He should still come to AZ next week, seems like a cop-out not to take 1 at bat and leave the game.
He looks fine to me, he can suck it up.
Probably could, but they have their reasons.
If hes as classy as hes portrayed to be, then he will show up.
Agreed, and honestly...Jeter didn't exactly have a great first half of the season, either. So from a stats/performance standpoint, there are some players who deserve that spot more than he does. But it's also a fan-appreciation event, so it's understandable that some may feel disappointed not to see the more popular players.I personally don't have too much of a problem with A-Rod and Jeter deciding to sit out of the ASG since at this point in their careers, as much as the fans want to see them, they've both been showing up for the past 12+ years. Not only can their bodies use the rest, but it also allows someone else a chance to shine.
I understand that its done more for the fans, but at the same time there are plenty of snubs each year and other players that really deserve to be called All-Star but usually don't get the chance because they're not as popular as the bigger names.
Mariano Rivera is also voted to the All-Star team, and he's not going because he wants to rest his elbow...and he closed out the game today. Does that make him any less classy?
Yeah, that's what I mean. As much of an A-Rod and Jeter fan that I am, from a stats point of view, weren't exactly at their best, especially compared to years past. But it seems like they get voted on to start just because of their names and not their stats. But of course, that usually ends up happening in all sports. Baseball is only different in that the ASG is supposed to have actually meaning.Agreed, and honestly...Jeter didn't exactly have a great first half of the season, either. Rivera did not just achieve a rare accomplishment, and everyone knew he wasn't coming. Jeter at the last second said he wasn't going, I don't particularly care for that, especially since people love to **** all over AZ based on non-baseball issues. He should be at the ASG.

The All-Star game? More like the LOL-Star game. I don't care about it since the NL won last year.

KINGFISH
Explain to me the mystery of Hank Conger. What kind of name is that to begin with and how is he Asian?
Not yet but he did reach 3000 sooner in his career than Rose did.for the way the media hyped him, I thought he had passed Pete Rose for all time hits.
Congrats to him I guess. Now hopefully he just goes away.

The mystery of a kid with Korean parents from Huntington Beach? It's a puzzler alright (his family name is Hyun Choi).
