Official '24' Season 5 Discussion Thread!

It was a joke actually...... >_< as I found it though :D

Seriously though where is it

I think everyone's confused. This is Jack's idea of a vacation, the beating his idea of a massage. Next comes the aerobic workout... the end of China as we know it.

man, those Chinese guys don't know what they're in for... it's gonna be like The Lost World, when the T-rex jumps out of the ship.

only, y'know... ten times worse.

twenty times worse.. All we can hope now is that they show it :o

Someone posted this over at the official 24 website, though it was hilarious:

If David Palmer was still alive this is what he would tell Jack in the phone call

JACK: Mr. President, I've been kidnapped by the Chinese Government
they found out about me being alive. I need your help

DAVID PALMER: I'm sorry Jack but, this is out of my hands but, I do have some good news.

JACK: You're calling CTU to send someone to rescue me?

DAVID PALMER: No, I just made a bunch of money on my car insurance by doing Allstate Commercials.
:D

My favorite:

Jack Bauer once forgot where he put his keys. He then spent the next half-hour torturing himself until he gave up the location of the keys.

I still can't get over the fact that
Tony is dead.

They killed him off like it was nothing, and didn't even make it a big deal. He didn't even get a silent clock. For godsakes, he's
Tony ****ing Almeida.

well..... :/ I totally agree, he was my favorite character.. I liked him more than I liked jack. :(

I thought the entire season was fantastic. So many shocking moments and a great finale. The deaths were good for the shows progression.

A good season, but not(in my opinion) the best. Season 1 will forever be hard, if not impossible, to beat, just because there had never been anything else like it before. As for me, I also liked Season 4, but I know not everyone agrees. At this point, I'd put Season 5 as third best, but I think I've got to let it all digest first.

I've been catching up on Season 5 again, it's so much better in one shot.

I only have 15 episodes though.

I loved season 4.. if only for the scene where jack is like.. I CALLED THE ONLY PERSON I COULD TRUST.. and BAM *SHOT* "tony almeida runs in" the triumphant return of tony almeida :D

I personally loved four, but it had its flaws...it was missing just one major BAM moment that changed everything. Season 1 had Nina being the mole. Season 2 had the Palmer assassination attempt at the end. Season three had Nina's death. Season five had President Logan being the mastermind.

Each season has its big moment, its big twist...except season 4 really...that is why I consider it the weakest.

Plus Habeeb Marwan escaped just too many times. Every weeks plot seemed to be "CTU almost catches Marwan, but opps! he slips away again"

I dunno... I thought in season 2 when mason died to save jack was amazing.

Yea, but it was predictable. I editted my post to include the assassination attempt on Palmer.

I felt the big problem with season four was the total lack of momentum. It was too damn stop and start.

The conversation between Jack and Kim in the plane in season 2 was absolutely heartbreaking and one of the most emotional scenes in 24 history. Actually, that season was full of emotional scenes. The scene where John, George Mason's son (the name was probably a homage to Terminator), is brought into CTU so George could say goodbye was pretty sad too.

Poor Jack, damn pleading for death. I'm a bit freaked out. Send in Chloe, I think she has a lot of ass kicking in her that she needs to get out.

Loved
Tony.
Sorry of course. One thing about it that is interesting is that I heard Joel Surnow talking about 24 a couple of months agao and the topic of
Tony
came up. He said that
Tony
had been dead on paper more than any other charcter, but they just kept changing the script so he would live because everyone liked the character so much.

Now that is interesting. Makes you wonder how many times these characters have been dead on paper. I wonder how many times they killed off Jack? You know the producers want to do it, just to shock everyone...but can't for obvious reasons.

Next season will definitely not be for the kiddies. If Jack was pleading for death, what he's about to endure will be much worse. :(

He said it had happened several times, but the most with that character. He said that Henderson was supposed to die early on into this season, but they were having such fun with the character and Weller was playing it so well that they decided to keep him around. I'm glad they did, what a trip of a character, you never knew which way he was going to go.

As for Jack, lets not forget that he has been dead at least twice that I can recall already! :D

hmm.. He died for a couple minutes in season 2.... he "died" at the end of season 4... Yep.. two times I think
