Just read 15 yesterday, and I really liked it. I thought the parts with Wolverine were hilarious :D .

So, does anyone think that we'll finally find out who Perfection is in 16 or 17?

I have a feeling that'll be saved for either 17 or 18.

Hopefully Soon...cause the Suspense who she is a great

Wow, I finally got #15. Hot diggity damn. I loved the homage at the end, and seeing Wolverine like that was great. The suspense is killing me.

So I finally got 15...I don't like how this book just seems to feel rushed.

What makes it even worse is the two-month gap inbetween issues.

Joss is definitely writing for the trade. These stories weren't meant to have one (or two) month gaps between them.

ASTONISHING X-MEN #18
Written by JOSS WHEDON
Pencils and Cover by JOHN CASSADAY
“TORN”
It’s the jaw-dropping conclusion to “Torn!” How will Emma’s betrayal affect the team?! Will the Hellfire Club stand victorious?! This issue also sets up the events leading into John and Joss’ final arc of Astonishing X-Men! Don’t miss it!
32 PGS./Rated T+ ...$2.99

Sooo... nothing big will happen in the next two issues.
It's a six-part arc. What, did you think it'd climax in the fourth part or something?

This arc is just feels like it's moving incredibly slowly.

EDIT: Oh, I guess they still have that Breakworld storyline to work on until then. I forgot, my bad.

I just mean that the last issue was fun and all, but revealed nothing... another two of those wouldn't be all that great.

The reason it feels so slow is the bi-monthly thing they are doing right now.

But the action and dialogue in the last issue was top notch. The X-Men were always best when the dialogue was crisp.

"oh no, the moose has my scent again!" You can't beat dialogue like that.:D

A lot of people feel like this arc is moving slow. I think it's just because the issues are so far spaced. If it were released on a monthly basis, you'd probably be more patient with it. Althought this is my leading X-Title, i've had pick up other things to not lose my patience waiting on the next Astonishing...

Oh, by the way 555, loving that avitar!!! Dat's hot!

What's up guys? I'm new here but I just had to jump in on the AXM talk. Something kinda new for yall to chew on-- and this can lead to spoilers but doesn't contain any-- how do you all feel about the Civil War 3 and X-Men Civil War being released when they are because it sorta spoils Joss' "Torn" arc. Read either issue(s) and you'll see what I'm talking about.

If you don't want "Torn" spoiled, stay away from Civil War and Civil War X-Men, just wait on the trade or read Civil War Frontline, which is really frickin' good. I'm not going to stop reading Torn but it's wierd knowing half the ending to the story. At least all my characters are in!

That's the danger of only releasing your book every couple of months.

Welcome to the Hype BTW. :)

Oh noes, I have them, I haven't read them yet though.

Thanks for the warning! I'll have to decide if I want to read them or not, I guess.

I was going to pick them up anyway..I read the summaries of them already on another site..but I gonna pick it up....ha ha..And I think in new X-men # 28 too...But I will get thanks alot and I think it was to do with Scott and Emma!!! Welcome to hype DoomJester

Does the torn arc take place after the civil war?

To the best of my knowledge, Joss wrote this arc--or at least plotted it--before Civil War and House of M, and had to make last minute changes like replacing Fury, whom he had intended to use, with Hill. So, by that logic, I would assume that this arc takes place after House of M, but before Civil War, but it's hard to tell right now.

I don't know if they never mention the 198 in Astonishing even though they're supposedly living on the front lawn on the mansion... but then they're there in Civil War (which I ended up reading)

Yeah, I'm almost 99% positive Torn is before Civil War, I say this because it begins with Wolverine talking about House of M "some students are gone...danger room could use a fern fuh-fuh-fuh blah-blah-blah" and not House of M, and from Issue 13 to to 15 is no more than a night. Plus, Civil War things all have civil war headings and there is none. Where this takes place as related to wolverine origins (Danny Way's book) I don't know, and with New X-men.
Honestly, I think Marvel needs a Crisis. I didn't care for House of M, and Civil War is really good, 'specially 3, but Marvel needs to clean up it's continuity.
