Yeah, he couldn't have made him look any worse sans-visor than he did there.

i LOVE the art. some of the best art in comics today. it looks real, not at all cartoony. just LOVE it.

I suppose it's a matter of preference; I love cartoony art, like Immonen's in UXM.

I like the art, but i dont think is the best work of Cassaday, this issue stars so cool with great panels of Emma and it ends with a bad picture o Kitty (my opinion of course), even so, this is my favorite comic at the time, Emma looks troubled, and the return of Danger to the arc opens more cuestions of what will happen next, Hisako it seems is going to play a major role, maybe becoming an x man at the end. Very cool, can't wait 2 more months

You could be right, we know that the roster is going to change, maybe Hisako is going to become an X-Man. I think it would be cool, her character has been steadily developed, and well see where she ends up at the end of this arc, but that is a very good guess.

hmm Hisako, that's an interesting guess? possibly, does she appear in any other books like New X-Men or something or just thing one?

I don't think so, but Astonishing is the only X book im reading, i know that there are specific caracters for each book, so i guess Hisako only appears in this one

I wouldn't be surprised if Hisako is the one who destroys Breakworld. Unless something that I forgot says that it's definately not one of the students. After her power "spurt" in this issue, I have to wonder.

They mention that an "X-MAN" its going to destroy the Breakworld, i think that only applies to the teachers, no students.

hooray whedon. lets just see how you explain how your girl-crush on kitty is going to be able to take down the ENTIRE hellfire club on her own...she can look like wolverine in that last panel all she wants, she wont be able to get 5 ft near nova. but i'm sure a deus ex machina will be written or something (perhaps a 2ndary "mutation" of being able to phase through pyshic attacks)

My guess is that she is not going to fight the entire Hellfire Club, only Emma, and in some point between Kitty kicking Emma's butt and the entire Hellfire ready to fight, some X men are going to recover themselves, it also looks like Emma is going to be withe the Xmen at the end

She appears in New X-Men here and there, but never in a major role. Her biggest part over there was when Emma had all the students battle and the final 7 or so would be the main team to be trained to become X-Men, and Hisako wasn't one of those seven. I like her though, I hope she does stick around and become an X-Man.

And are the X-Men suppose to be broken up at the end of this arc, or after his run at issue 24?

I thought this issue was alright, light and fun, nothing really happened. I dont think astonishing is worth the wait though.

I really like Whedon. Sure he's made mistakes, but we all have and he's by and large very good.

However, if he's made Cyke and Wolvie, incapacitated just so he can have his beloved Kitty save the day that will be stupid. I don't think this will happen because I do expect some character growth from Cyke, and Wolvie is so popular that he can be comic relief for a short time so right now I'm cautiously optimistic.

Why is everyone so up in arms about Kitty becoming the focus hero? She's not exactly a character that's always puting others in her shadow... I think it'd be cool to see her shine for a while.

Yeah, I'm not getting all the Kitty backlash. Emma's looking to get a royal ass-beating from her: I thought that would put her in everyone's good graces.

I guess comics fans are truly never satisfied.

Yeap, i also like the idea of Wolverine being vulnerable with stronger mutants, in some other comics or tv series or the movies Wolverine is portrayed almos like an invencible mutant who defeats everyone, Whedon is writing a more believeble Wolverine (even if he acts lika a 5 year old)

Im satisfied with Astonishing:p

I just finished reading this and I have to say that even though I am a huge Wolverine fan, I was laughing my ass off when he was making cute little pink doilies. That was priceless. Makes you wonder why a psychic hasn't done it before, reduced him to the cowardly lion. When he snaps out of it, he's going to be the meanest cuss in order to save face. I loved this issue and this book is still high on my list of faves.

i dont really think kitty can take emma, like ever, emmas stronger, and she can just read her mind, kitty im sure has her talents, like being very smart, but people also forget that emma is also very smart, kittys power cant really go up against emmas, that is unless emma cant control kitty while shes phasing, its not just that im a die hard fan of emmas, its just logic, to me anyway

Whedon's kind of making him really one dimensional... like he's a brute fighter who loves beer..... and occasionally is mind-controlled into thinking he's a young girl.

GREAT ISSUE. Yeah comic fans are never satisfied. I like to consider myself a laid back comic fan. I dont b!tch about too many things.

I laughed my ass off at Wolverine being a little girl. His expression and him playing with paper dolls was hilarious.

I can't wait to see Kitty kick some ass. I never have liked Emma, so I hope to see Kitty mop the floor with her. :)

I'd say there's gonna be some good growth with Cyke, continuing what happened in issue 14. Look at it this way: an entire issue was devoted to the deconstruction of Cyclops. The rest of the team was all done in one issue.

Honestly, who didn't break out laughing at this:
