The Dark Knight Rises OFFICIAL: Batman in Los Angeles

Hey everyone, didn't notice a thread for this yet so I made this one.

Filming for the epic conclusion of the Dark Knight starts in August in LA.

The casting call is about 8 hours away and I am here at the Sportsman Lodge Event Center.

It's a really nice ballroom with cool bridges going over large fountains or pools of water. There is no one here for the casting call as far as I can tell. I drove here from Chula Vista (South San Diego County, practically at the border of Mexico) to get an early spot and not stand in the sun like those poor Pittsburgh hopefulls.

Guess I didn't have much to worry about, the only other people here are a family who just celebrated their Debut here, and they're leaving now.

Thankfully my girlfriend was all for making the trip so I don't feel like a total psycho sleeping in my car in the parking lot.

Anyways, I figured we can keep all LA/Bat discussion here. I'll keep you guys posted on the casting news.

I went at 2.. was out by 4.. and I got there right when they took their lunch. So if not for that, probably would have taken only 1 hour at least.

I was there....got there at 10:45, was out by around 1:00 pm.

There were about 700 people in the room when I was there, with people continually shuffling in/out.

I think the woman said they would use up to 3k extras - it was hard for me to hear her though. She did say about 8K people showed up for the call in Pittsburgh.

I really hope that there will be shoots that the public can get into at some point if not this month than later on around the fall or at least TDKR related events in LA. I really want to participate.

The Dark Knight Rises will be filming in Los Angeles on September 3rd and 4th from 6am til 10pm at 550 S. Hope St.

Preparation will start on August 13 and go through September 2nd.

It looks like they're filming outside of the studios after all! Nolan better watch out. LA is the paparazzi's home turf. Also, it looks like the preparation will start soon!

That does seem kinda long. Not sure the extent of the shot but if its interior, I wouldn't think the would need that much time. Maybe its a typo. Maybe they mean 31st

hmmm, that building has the Social Security Office for LA on the 6th floor, right about where they will be filming on the 5th. Also mentions building across the street...let me see if i can see what that is

it's a business district, the architecture very beautiful. That specific building has several different law firms, social security offices, corporation offices, even some sort of laboratory
