Every time I read a page from Batman: Odyssey, I want to believe I've missed about 13 pages of build-up. Then I see more posted, and my desire to read it at all lessens.

Nude Batman doesnt mind he loves us all anyway

I can tell

Does anyone know what Alfred is showing him there? Because it looks like prostate stimulation to me.... OMG Adams what have you done!

He is :ninja:

Sadly DC decided not to release the Sex Hands Alfred action figure

The nude Batman with axe and bannana action figure variant will be out in October though

Batman Inc. #3 was a very weird time for my bilingualism to come in handy.

Good issue, though. Paquette's swarthy chiaroscuro is perfect for the Leviathan mystery Morrison's penning. The Spanish parts make me wish more spinoffs of popular titles were written in different languages. Morrison's also doing a much better job at continuity and explaining the story elements than his previous work on Batman.

well, to be fair, anything would be a step up.

Can't wait to get Batman Inc #3.

Now let's play "Guess How Many Issues Of The Fricken Book Will Come Out Before It Gets Delayed Once Again"!

Cannot wait to check that out

Hahaha hopefully the Batman Inc issues will be coming out on time from now on

I just read Inc #3. Well... I didnt get it, part because some parts were in Spanish and i wont bother to type it in google translate, and part because there's like a thousand new characters, names, and some clues about imaginary writers thrown in there...

And i still dont really like seeing Batman in broad daylight. Its weird.

The light-up bat emblem on his chest is kinda cool though.

It's great having Morrison Batman back. I'm hoping for no more delays.

-Oh and one of the quotes translates is from Federico Garcia Lorca pertaining to duende. It reads,

"The Goblin, on the other hand, doesn't come if he sees no chance of death, if he doesn't know what's creeping inside the house, if he doesn't have the certaintity that he will deserve the branches that we all carry and that don't have, that wont have, comfort."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duende_(art)

-With what little Spanish I could pick up it was mostly describing El Gaucho as an Argentinian Bruce.
-El Papagayo is a very old Batman villain from the 50's. [BLACKOUT]Too bad he's dead.[/BLACKOUT]
-Thought the old British heroes were neat. [BLACKOUT]Too bad they're dead.[/BLACKOUT]
-Oroboro is more serpent imagery that I'm guessing this has to deal with Leviathan.

Now Dr. Daedalus (Greek for cunning worker) has a whole well of meaning. First Daedalus appears in the writing of Homer as a creator of a wide dancing ground for the dancing god Adriane. He is also the designer of the Labyrinth for the minotaur of Crete. Now according to the Knight Daedalus was trapped and also Daedalus leads to them[BLACKOUT] El Sombrero[/BLACKOUT] a maker of traps and such. Daedalus himself would be imprison in a tower later. I wouldn't be surprised if we get some James Joyce references.

Morrison also referenced Jorge Luis Borges which again is a plays a lot into the themes of the issues and it seems most of Morrison's writing.

Snap the article references gauchos. Also one of Borges's books is entitled Labyrinths and his writings deal with fictional writers.

Hmm, I know I've heard that name before, but don't think I've ever read anything from him.

Me neither but what I've read seems interesting. In a way this comic was Borges's Batman comic. A playing of fictional realties/writers, labyrinths, and I guess Borges would splice in random English to his Spanish writings like Morrison here would do the opposite.

When DC inevitably writes Inc. out of existence, I hope Dick at least remains Batman. Double Batman is the coolest thing in years.

I do as well. Unfortunately, it probably won't happen. He'll be going back to being Nightwing soon enough.

Thank you so much for this!

Neal Adams is writing down a Batman dream he had which he cannot properly remember

And that makes it :awesome: Odyssey is the comic book equivalent of Manos The Hands of Fate

Read Batman Inc # 3 today. For some reason, Grant Morrison's writing always starts out confusing to me, like he makes it all up as he goes along.

I'm one of Morrison's biggest critics and dislike a lot of what he writes, but even I can appreciate how much thought he puts into the long haul. How anybody can say he makes it up as he goes along is beyond me.
