Honestly, outside of Snyder's sucking, we really are in a grand age for Batman comics; all of Batman's other titles are great. I don't remember the last time the entire line was this high quality.

Batgirl sucks as well, but I guess you're speaking only about titles with Batman, and in that regard, I totally agree. It's a great time for us fans of the bat.

mike marts has been doing a pretty great job in knowing who to keep around

I just recently started reading Batgirl but I've really dug what I have. Just 13-15 so far. I don't plan on dropping on after DOTF so it's at least that good to me. I like the art especially

I haven't read thru every post so I don't know if it's already been suggested yet but, what if Alfred killed the Joker? I actually think that Bruce would have a considerably larger issue than any other member of the family if he did. What if Alfred were sent to prison for murder. He's just as much,if not more of a patriarch figure to all of the Bat Family. What if that were the actual "death" of the family? I don't think this will be the case but it could make an intriging story.

OK,thanks. I only really keep up with Batman and Detective. What basically happens in the flashforward?

I would like to differ,I find Snyder's Batman to be vastly over hyped and overwritten but his work is still better than TDK and Tec put together.

The entire Scarecrow arc has been mundane and worthless IMO,Crane's new look is just goofy and all the emphasis on his and Batman's past is completely redundant and now the story went from 4 issues in Scarecrow's basement to Crane having a blimp, the Batman Scarecrow/fight was poorly written and so was Damian's characterization.

It's just a Scarecrow Year One and BTAS ripoff, however huge Mad Hatter fan here,so gonna give this series a chance and TBH Scarecrow is a villain not worth any time or effort IMO but If I'd have never read Penguin PAP I would've called Hurwitz a mediocre writer based on this story alone.

Tec hasn't done anything praiseworthy, again just a decent BTAS episode quality comic.

Some of these Bat-books today would be lucky to reach the heights of Batman: The Animated Series.

We've seen Alfred in the flashforward of Batman, Inc.

Has it really been confirmed that DOTF takes place after Incorporated? I believe Lobdell mentioned something along those lines but he's the last person I would ask and the Batfamily seems to get along fine in INC however we know that something big is gonna down in DOTF.

It's only one or two pages. Bruce is standing at his parents graves and Alfred walks out to him, Bruce tells Alfred to tell the others that Batman, Batman Incorporated, all of it, is over. Alfred says that it is just what they want, Gordon then bursts in and declares that Bruce Wayne is under arrest.

Also, you should read Batman Incorporated, it's by far the best bat title.

Great series for it's time, but that does not mean that writers should just start copy pasting it and what works in a cartoon does'nt mean it would work in a comic.

Well... perhaps Snyder should watch a few episodes. It might improve his writing skills.

He just happens to have an expressive artist who is fully capable of telling the story through his art which renders Snyder's exposition kinda useless, but hand it to the guy atleast he gives you enough material in the comic to justify the money you're spending. His pacing is perfect, can create an atmosphere,he has skill of the craft. It's just that he was made the head Batman writer waaaay too quickly and he keeps trying to top himself with the biggest story EVAH (lol). He needs an editor to rein him in that's it really,it's his creative decisions and over usage of certain tropes that are bothersome.

The other Bat books though bleh,it's like they're not trying to be anything more than standard 90's Batman stories.

INC is the only one that's truly fantastic,B&R lost it's way after the Nobody storyline.

It's not just his overexposition. It's his awful dialogue, case in point "Tell me where Pennyworth is now, and I'll only hurt you. A lot".

No doubt, case in point"HOO am I",seriously was that supposed to be genius?

Heck I never even liked his Black Mirror storyline and Court of Owls was just stupid, just felt that putting TDK and Tec over Batman was kinda surprising when they are pretty mediocre as well. The Batman line is at it's weakest right now, there's absolutely no variety.

Personally, Inc is the only title I buy every month and look forward to every month, I'd put Batman & Robin next, Tomasi is good and the only "normie" that G-Mo shares notes with in the Bat-Titles. TDK and Tec are still well above Batman, but third place has go to go to Red Hood. The plots may not be great, but the character interaction is phenomenal.

I'd say the bat-books are pretty good, bett then they've been in a while, largely because there is only a few truly bad books, and 2/3's of that is Snyder's fault.

Interesting,I think the Batbooks were at their best in 2010 personally.

And you'd be thoroughly wrong.

Sure, Grant Morrison was kicking ass on B&R, but Tony Daniel was sucking on Batman, Detective was bouncing around between David Hine and other no name writers who wrote entirely forgettable stories, Batman Confidential was a waste of paper, and Streets of Gotham was mediocre at best.

Interesting! I think I will check it out. Thanks for the heads up.

Just read Batman and Robin.......

So....when did Batman get captured by the Joker?? Or is that really Batman and the end?

Don't see what people see so wrong about Snyder, his Black Mirror storyline was slow as hell, yet it was very well praised by fans, now the story's having a good pace and you complain that it's boring

His story is constantly keeping me on the endge of my seat. Can't say the same for the rest of the Batman titles.
