The recent issue of batwoman was practically unbearable. This story arc has been so drawn out I don't even know what the story is anymore because I don't care.

Really? I've liked the last few issues. The second arc with all that skipping around was what nearly killed it for me, but since then, I've liked most of this current arc after he got back to more linear storytelling.

Batwoman is the one DC book I care about/get excited for each month. I could honestly drop the rest of my DC pull list if i needed to save money and it wouldn't bother me as long as I still had the cash to buy Batwoman t:

I've been digging the current story so much and I cant wait to see Batwoman and Wonder Woman against Medusa and her monsters

Seeing the two of them fight a hydra is going to be

I loved the spotlight on Maggie Sawyer last issue as well I've been digging how Williams writes her and i her and Kate together

The first arc was good, the second arc was way too all over the place. This third arc has been okay, it's had it's moments. But this stuff with the kidnapped kids has been going on forever. It needs to be done with.

Yea Detective was pretty damn cool. LOVE the idea of Joker-cults and just the effect that he has on people. I think it could be really cool if he himself would take more advantage of people practically worshipping him but more in a cult leader sort of way than super villain/henchman sorta way. I could see Joker amass a following just preaching pure anarchy. Could be a cool angle to take him, his stories have become a little stale even though I'm loving DOTF

So, I know I'm pretty late to the party, but I just finished Volume One of Scott Snyder's "Court of Owls"

Holy. ****.

I don't really read a lot of comics, I definitely more of a fan of the characters and the lore and I just cannot keep up with issues, so it doesn't come as much of a shock to me when I say that this story (or first half of a story) is one of my favorite comics of all time. The art by Greg is just beautiful and the writing is just so damn spot on. It's no wonder DC loves the Snyder guy, he's fantastic.

Now I have to read Batman comics, I guess. Maybe even Swamp Thing. I heard Snyder writes those too.

Haha, yeah, Snyder's Batman had a bit of a rough patch right around the middle of "Night of the Owls" up to the beginning of "Death of the Family." Although I think he's redeemed himself pretty well with his utterly fantastic treatment of the Joker in "DotF." I'm still kind of ready for the event to be over, but I've been thoroughly enjoying Snyder's incredibly eerie, chilling portrayal of the Joker.

I don't see him as being a Bane style villain but I'm hoping Croc remains part of Kate's rogues gallery along with the other urban legends as well

He fits Kate's rogues well and looks suitably monstrous and menacing when Williams or McCarthy draw him

Mediocre at best is a bit much. I think it's been a decent bounce back, not nearly as a good as the first, but I've been enjoying it pretty well. That second arc, though...phew, yeah. Experimental is good, but that second arc is the kind of ugly, two-headed, no-assed hellspawn you get when experiments go terribly wrong.
