I think that Bruce needs some serious alone time before a new Robin joins the team. At least a year's worth of books.

After that, I'd love if Tim came back. He's not doing too much these days anyway.

I agree. It would make zero sense to whip out another Robin so quickly, or at all. I mean, how could Bruce possibly just up and replace his son with another Robin?

If he MUST have another sidekick, make it Squire... as Squire. She's an interesting, developed character who just lost her partner (the Batman of England!). Not only that but Knight and Robin died fighting the same fight against the same bad guy (though different Battlefields). Batman has this sense of looking out of people who suffer and I'd imagine that, given time, Bruce would see Beryl as someone he should help due to their mutual tragedies.

Her working alongside Bruce would make sense after a time of mourning for them both and I could accept that a lot better than another misc. kid who stumbled into his life (aka... Harper).

I'm really going to miss Damian's signature hood, too. Best costume update to Robin in decades...

But what is it gonna mean for B&R and other subsequent titles? All these potential continuity issues are staggering.

B&R is basically going to become a Batman team up title for a while...

Nightwing #18 better be an emotional roller coaster.

Excellent idea.

I kind of feel bad for the creators on every Bat book other than Batman and Batman Inc. When do they have time to tell their own stories when they keep getting pulled into events from those two books?

That Teen Titans cover is indescribably wrong. Smiling over the empty clothes of a dead kid? Does DC want me to dislike Tim?

f***ing detective comics better be left alone for its next arc

Yeah, that's really weird. I mean, I know they had their issues, but what the hell is that?

he's under mind control or something

idk, i skimmed the last issue and then threw it against the wall

I think this will be the last time this happens for a while given that Snyder's next arc won't be a crossover.

I think it has something to do with being mind controlled by Trigon. That's what the next Teen Titans arc is about. I haven't read issue 17 yet though, so I'm not sure.

Isn't it 11-12 issues like Owls? I have a feeling that by the middle, it will turn into one again.

No I mean for the Riddler arc that coming up that will be like nine issues. Snyder said it himself in a interview I read.

I don't know how to feel about this considering it's comics--and despite all the claims that Damian isn't coming back, he could be back in issue 12 as readily as not.

If he's gone for the foreseeable future, that's kinda weak. I there are better stories to be had with him alive then as another dead Robin. Why take him off the table?

I think I'm going to miss Tomasi's Damian stories the most. Really, I'll remember those more than all the annual events and deaths and blah blah blah. Last month's "filler" issue was one of the best single comics I've read in a while.

Really, the only thing I'm looking forward to coming out of this turn of events is Tomasi's take on it.

In the meantime, I don't really care about this Harper Row person. If she's to be Robin you're gonna need to sell her harder. Or maybe not so hard. I'm not sure yet. Furthermore, considering this is the second (not counting Stephanie) kid do die in his charge, and his son, no less, Snyder (let's not kid ourselves: it's Snyder who will lead the charge on this; with Morrison bowing out he leads the Batbooks) has his work cut out for him. It's going to take a hell of a lot to convince readers that Batman would put another kid in danger.

Also, I'd rather Squire be Robin. Squire's awesome.

The B&R Annual has been the best New 52 issue yet... and that's because of Damian.

This week, I decided to start reading every issue of Batman from 1968-1980. I'm only a couple issues in right now, but I so love the art of that era. The colors, the costumes, the pencil work is all scads better than most of the art around today. And I'm not even past Irv Novick yet.

Some of those covers make no sense. All these characters reacting to the death of somebody they hardly knew. Did Huntress ever even meet Damian? And really, why the hell is Tim smiling?

The only two people that ever spent a significant amount of time with him were Dick and Bruce. Alfred too I guess.

To bad this didn't happen before the New52. It would have been cool to see Steph's reaction.

1. Damian did show up in a issue of world's finest so yes.

2. Tim is apparently possessed by something.

3. And you have to remember that this is the new 52, not the old dc universe. Character relationships and interactions may have changed. Even though it has never been shown.
