Also, how is Jenkins as a writer? I'm not sure I've actually read anything he's written. If he's good I might actually pick up DK since I'm ok with Finch's art just not his writing.

He's all over the place. He's written some great books (Inhumans, the first Sentry mini, and I hear that his Hellblazer was good) and his has written some absolute **** (Sentry: Fallen Son, Civil War: Front Line). Who knows which one is coming to the party.

Yeah, some writers have multiple personalities like that. JMS is sort of like that; when he's on, he puts out incredible work, but when he's not on... it can be downright bad.

Alright so with this new relaunch and all the new bat titles I have to make some decisions, budget decisions. Realistically I can only afford two books a month. I plan on one being Batman and I was going to go with Detective, but based on everyone's opinion of tony daniel im second guessing. So here's the question: what should my second book be?

I'm picking up Batman, Detective, and Nightwing. I'd hate to see dick goto waste

It's good you're going with Batman to start cause it's your most solid bet, Snyder's been doing a great job over on Detective.

I second the others that say Daniel isn't particularly good, he has good ideas but he's not yet a good enough writer to use them in a story that's interesting, most of its just passable.

If you just want another title starring Batman for your second then I guess Batman and Robin is the next best. I personally enjoyed Tomasi's recent arc on the book but there's others that didn't and it doesn't have the added benefit of him writing Dick Grayson who he was familiar with which was the main draw originally when he was supposed to be taking over from Morrison.

If it doesn't have to be a title starring the Bat himself I'm gonna say Batwoman (Batgirl is a possibility too depending on how open minded you are about Babs walking again). Sure J.H. Williams isn't completely proven as a writer but he did a good job on the issue 0 of Batwoman and he has a cowriter on it with him that I'm sure will smooth out the rough patches and his artist worth cover price alone.

Their looking for a drug addict in a bright red costume. They'll never suspect that the drug addict in a bright red costume and a ridiculous hat is the one their looking for

But hey for unintentional comedy it works. I still wish they'd gone for out and out absurdity and made hell I dunno Robot Man and Detective Chimp part of the team. They fit in just as well as everybody else. That way we would know its a joke and not just an oddball idea (but more power to them if they pull it off convincingly in a serious manner).

The art for Batman is looking pretty awesome and the second is issue of Batwing is sounding interesting enough I might just have to pick that one up even though I originally planned not to.

No, not a cameo. I want Chimp to have a starring role in the series in fact I think he should be THE star and it should be called "The Chimp, The Outlaws and Some *****ebag In A Trucker Hat (Who is Secretly Arsenal's Redneck Clone)".

Of the brand new titles its the one I'm most excited about (along with the supernatural titles minus I, Vampire) and I've been wanting more ever since the zero issue (I seriously need to pick up the Elegy TPB, I haven't read it yet, sinful I know) and I've really been enjoying other appearances the character has made in Batman Inc. and such.

Hopefully it'll be worth the wait.

Agreed. I was a bit disappointed that we didn't get a whole line of ape books out of this relaunch. I would trade in most of the "The Edge" and "Next Generation Justice" titles for one talking Ape book.

Me too! Once THE DARK KNIGHT RISES comes out, Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy will finally be eligible to dethrone Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy as the best superhero trilogy of all time!
