She was kind of an annoying jerk

And she replaced Holly who was infinitely superior

So I think she totally counts as a villain

Detective Comics and Batman: The Dark Knight sold within the top 10 last month.

Yet Batwoman only managed the 20's. Sometimes I dont know...

It's been that way since September. Bottom line is Batman books will sell the most cause it's Batman. It's the one superhero everybody knows. I think it's very impressive that Batwoman's book is actually selling that well to tell you the truth.

Being in the 20's was something that not even Wonder Woman could accomplish as recent as 9 months ago. Characters that were female were slept on. Comics with women in the lead used to sell jack ****.

Comics with gay women as the leads even lesser. It was unfortunate but your average person walking into a comic store will buy a popular character like Batman, Spidey or the X-Men over anything else. Those characters pull in fans from other media.

That's what it is ask people my age (28) and they remember TAS and the animated X-Men and Spidey from FOX growing up. Or even the older comics cause back then comics were more pronounced amongst the general public. Ask teens today and they'll tell you they grew up on the movies so they know them from there and subsequent media. But that's about it.

They don't read comics today and have "grown" out of that; or just had no interest in comic books in the first place. Till this superhero movie resurgence hooked them back on or in the case of the latter generation introduced them to superhero fare.

Look at this board and how many general audience types (more casual superhero fans) have a hard time seeing beyond Batman and Superman with DC characters for example. GL too to an extent after Johns. That's real; and sales of other media like comics not featuring those characters prove it. This is unfortunately how it is.

So I'm surprised cause considering all that Kate's doing fantastic. It means this title will survive for quite some time for sure. The New 52 has been kinder to female led books with the sales. There are a lot of books that are just as good and high in quality not selling that well so I'm very happy about that book at least being in the 20's personally.

It is depressing to see garbage like Detective Comics and mediocre stuff like The Dark Knight selling better than Batwoman as Batwoman is better than both of those series in every way

But its nice to see that Kate's book is still selling well even if some people have no taste

I hope that Batwoman is going to be around for a long long time. Her series is the best thing DC be publishing right now and the only one I'm caring about :

I wouldn't say Batwoman is better in every way... Detective is a better parody of what a good comic should be

That's true, Detective Comics can at least say that its an excellent example of how you shouldn't write a comic book

B&R #8 made up for my disappointment with #7. Some of the exchanges between father and son were pure gold.

I've not heard about that but it sounds like it could be neat

Sadly I couldn't get to the comic store today so I'll have to get Batwoman and Batgirl tomorrow

Batman and Robin was pretty good, nice family bonding between Damian and Bruce

Batman and Robin was awesome. The overall arc probably should've only been 6 or 7 issues, but Tomasi hit on all of the best character beats.

The art was great in B&R, Gleason is the man.

Batwoman was good, though I'm sick of the "4 weeks ago, yesterday, 6 days ago, now" thing that they have. I hope Williams drops it with the next arc.

Was Maggie Sawyer okay in this issue? I saw in the preview she got stabbed with the hypodermic full of the knock out drug/fear gas

Yeah, hes knocking it right out of the park pretty much every month. Gleason kills on the art, too.

So....Damien kills a man and Bruce just shruggs?

Don't get me wrong.....I think it was the only thing they could do. But Bruce is so dead set against killing that I thought he might turn Damien over to the police.
