How is Jason an "ally of the bat" now? Didn't he try to shank Tim to death and get the snot kicked out of him by Dick?

Depends what the reboot did for Jason's character. If everything is kept in tact, then yes, it is just as you described.

If they modified his history to be less psychotic, then maybe Jason and the Bat family are simply on not talking terms.

If I'm not mistaken Tim's supposed to show up in the next issue of Outlaws to help in some way.

why is bruce even in contact with jason?

and the birds have no problem slicing and dicing villains, except when dinah decides they do

Alfred sends Christmas cards to all Bat allies and associates every year. Promote that family atmosphere and all that.

I think they get one, but ignore them, simply to spite Batman.

That's so mean :csad:

They could at least send him one back

True but Damien totally murdered a guy :ninja:

damian 10 years old

the birds of prey have at least hit puberty

Fair point

But they only kill in self defence. And Bruce works with Wonder Woman and Aquaman who both kill when they have to

Yeah, refraining from killing is like being a vegetarian. It doesn't really work if everyone else is eating meat with gusto.

It's entirely possible Alfred's message wasn't meant for him, and Jason merely keeps track of Bat-family communications without them knowing. He certainly would have the knowledge and experience to do so.

In Red Hood, it says that the communication has an eaves dropper (Jason) and it's only after Tim convinces him to help that he agrees.

Jason can eavesdrop without Bruce or dick knowing? But they're goddamnbatman and goddamnnightwing :o

They did notice *****e. And then Tim talked him into helping. Plus, both were shown to be in the middle of a fight at the time of the transmission.

I always figured Batman allowed Jason to keep in touch in the hopes he'd come around. Leave the door open should the fancy ever hit Jason. Unlikely, but still there.

Well in Other news. Lee Garbett will be drawing Batman and Robin #9, which I think is just awesome.

I could buy that spiderbob. Bruce still looking for a way to redeem himself or at the very least atone for jason's death.

Aside from introducing him to the life as Robin, I don't see Jason's death as Bruce's fault. Jason repeatidly disobeyed orders, etc. I don't think Bruce needs redemption. Furthermore, if Bruce had any knowledge that Jason was ressurected, he would have done his best to put him back on the right path, but by the time Bruce learned the truth, it was far too late. I'm just glad elements like the All Caste (or whatever its called) have been introduced into Jason's history so he's not so pure doom and gloom anymore. Now he actually has chops and has grown a great deal as a character.

it became bruce's fault as soon as he scooped him off the street and put him in a fairy costume

I suppose, but once a corpse has a heartbeat and starts walking around and talking and not eating brains, I'm not sure I would call them dead.

Well did they actually kill the Talon's or just immobilise them so they couldn't regenerate?

Dick said he imobilized his Talon in Nightwing by shoving his escrima stick in his eye.

Which was after stabbing him through the chest with a sword.
