I'm still gonna see it. But I'm going to continue to be hyper-critical of this internet-forum starlet until proven otherwise. These are mighty big shoes.
Lol, this pretty much sums the fan boy mind set, which I can't stand.... What happened to fans who were passionate and had genuine positive love for movies/games/comics etc. When did it become people being negative for the sake of it.... Assuming everything is terrible and *****e until it's been "proven to you", like your opinion determines whether or not something is good? It's an overinflated, egotistical sense of self entitlement, and a belief that all forms of media are there to entertain you and you alone.
It's simply pathetic. The kind of people who will write off a movie because of a particular actor, or director, or freaking make up artist. Even the worst movies, based on beloved franchises or comics etc, can have some redeemable features and ignoring them makes you just as ignorant as the 'masses' that you purport these movies are aiming to draw in.
I have so much respect for people like Jon Favreau or Guillermo Del Toro, who manage to go above and beyond the call of duty and STILL take time to try and cater to the fans, because lets face it, most 'fans' don't even deserve that attention. Imagine being JF or someone like him, and being faced with the walls of negativity and garbage, about HIS project?
It's great that you've been a fan of said franchise or property for your whole life, but consider this... The director is the one who puts a year (or more, for franchises) of their life into these movies, they work closely with them EVERY SINGLE DAY and give it their all to make the best possible movie. On top of that, it's backed up by Marvel Studios, who not only CREATED said properties, but know the characters BETTER than any fans, and would probably care about them more, since, not only are they their bread and butter, but they have created and lived in the characters worlds for years.
I know this seems long and ranty, but it'd just be nice to see less pointless cynicism (and yes, it is pointless, it achieves absolutely nothing except for maybe a premature sense of self satisfaction) and more people excited at the prospect of a beloved character finally getting their own movie, both origin, and ensemble and the fact that its being developed by people who love the characters. This isn't Fox, this is Marvel.
Thus endeth the word of the ranty benevolent fan.
