Yes, let's scrap the whole comic because we're not dead set on having Evans look exactly like comic Cap...

We just realize that the having the perfect body, that comes with strength, endurance and stamina, means more than to just have big, beautiful muscles. Maybe that was the idea back then, but that was decades ago. We actually know how the body changes and adapts when you improve the endurance and agility.

That's not what my comment was referring to there Nate.

People keep tossing out this superfluous idea that you can't be agile and move around like he does at bulkier size. OK, if that's the case then where are all the protests to the comic? The idea alone is absurd, but I just find it funny that all of the sudden they're so anti- about a character they've seen look a certain way for decades.

I don't need advice from you child. You definitely were taking jabs at me. Let's not extrapolate this to how my days go .... I'm voicing my opinion the same way thousands of people are doing on this site minute by minute.....even repeatedly so. You just don't like the take.

Hundreds of people.

this thread is starting to get a little ugly again. im surprised a Mod hasnt popped up to issue another chill out warning.

Well then stop talking about me personally or your boy rather! I don't single people out for their opinions and advise them on "how" to post or how often, even if I think they are ridiculous.

At any rate, I found a pic that better explains what I'd like to see out of his physique .... somebody manip'd it for Ackles, so just block his face out...

But comics and film are different mediums, with different expectations. This same argument has raged on and off over on the Thor boards, where 6'3" brick s**thouse Chris Hemsworth has been called a scrawny skinny waif because he looks like this:

And not this:

But even so, with Captain America I don't even see the difference in body shape between actor and comic depiction being so drastic. I think there's been a move away from the cartoonish extremes in his physique that were more common in the 90s:

The recent Captain America artists like Steve Epting or Luke Ross have leaned more towards drawing Cap with a more lithe, athletic physique, the kind that Chris Evans already is well on the way to having, and could feasilby pull off come the time of the movie:

Besides, in the early days he was hardly a giant:

Whoever called Hemsworth in scrawny waif is out of their d*mn minds.

Go back and look at the one I posted with Ackles name on it. That is what I'm referring to.

That's what I don't get, though. I'm not being sarcastic, perhaps I'm actually misreading the point of your posts due to just returning to the thread, but you seem to be arguing that Chris Evans is too skinny, but the kinda pics you're posting as your preferred size are near enough the size Chris Evans is now, or at least the size he was when he last posed topless or dressed in spandex for Fantastic Four. Or at least near enough that size that it's hardly outwith the realm of possibility for Evans to get that big.

Evans is nowhere near that size now ..... and was still lighter than that when he was at his peak.

Artists exaggerate muscle mass.

Evan's bulking up is something no one needs to worry about. it's obviously something he'll be doing.

Something along the lines of this:

There's another picture that bests represents what I'd like to see, I just can't find it. He's got red leather gloves on ...... but the body size is what I'd ideally like to see at the least.
Evans is already about this size.

This is a recent pick from "The Losers" ...... Evans is smaller than JDM and he's 6'2 190lbs ......

cap started of skinny then turned into a stead head

real life example - christian bale machineist christian bale batman begins

and i didnt mean c bale took steads
but i ment what is the super soldier serum if not a concentrated wwii version of em?

We'll agree to disgree. He's nowhere near that size. 6'1 180lbs DOESN'T look like that.

I'd say he looks pretty close to me:

And this is before any regime to bulk up for the part. Though even if he doesn't bulk up like crazy, let's not forget that when we did have an actor nuts enough to really go wild with the building muscle mass until the point where he was HUGE - Christian Bale - quite the opposite from getting thanks for it, around the time the first Batman Begins promo pics emerged all we heard was "FATMAN!" and "LOL FAT BALE!"

What I wish could happen is say that evans goes crazy skinny (machinist Bale) they shoot the pre-SSS Steve then they take 6 months off and he lives in a gym for that entire time :awesome: then film the rest.

Keyser, gotta find a smaller pic man.

At any rate, nope still doesn't look the same size. His arms and chest are decent, but his shoulders are slight, as are his legs. He's in what you'd call "good" shape, not "super solider" shape IMO.

If they are going to make Evans cut weight then they will shoot the skinny scenes at the end.

Hollywood trainers have done more with less. I do not understand why Evans CURRENT size should even be in issue considering he's young, healthy, and has a good base physique to build upon. He should be able to put on weight very easily by the time the movie comes around.
