I wont be forgetting about the Human Torch because Evan's played that role to perfection. The same way I'm certain he'll play Cap to perfection.

See I like Jp, he's a smart guy who knows his stuff and it doesn't hurt that he's a fan of Lady Ga Ga.

Hell, I'm not trying to convince anyone of his merit. The fact is, I like him and I'm happy he got the role. I'm also happy he got the role over 99% of the other actors that were up for it because they weren't anything special to me. Can't please everyone.

Evans wouldn't be my first choice, hell he probably wouldn't be on my short list. He did a good job as the human torch, but overall I really just hated the fantastic four movies, and this gives me another reason to forget about them. Thankfully, they're rebooting them (sooner or later) and I'll have another actor I can call the human torch.

The silver lining for me is a couple of things ..... No.1 Hugo Weaving .... No.2 it WASN'T that clown John Krasinski .... No.3 When the Avengers hits, there's still the other guys to save the movie if Evans is the same ol' same ol' to me.

I'd say Joe Johnston and Louis Letterer are about the same talent wise. Joe is slightly better and his movies aren't quite as dumb as Letterer's but overall there isn't a huge difference...and thats what worries me because The Incredible Hulk is fun but it's fairly forgettable. I want something better for Captain America. I guess I'll be content with me liking this lead actor more than TIH's lead actor.

I just feel like by getting guys like Evans and director Joe Johnston it's like they want to have a Captain America movie as quickly as possible in theatre to get the quick rewards. They know Evans has done one before, Johnston has done this sort of stuff too, they're good workers, easy to work with and they'll be able to just slide in quickly. Instead of taking their time and picking the best director in the World, the best American actor. I see a lack of ambition and foresight here.

The casting process as a whole completely BOMBED imo and so they reached out and nabbed a familiar face to them as a safety net.

I thought he was great in that role, one of the very few good things about the FF movies.

Personally I kind of wish they had gotten an actor nobody really knows but I think Evans is still a damn good choice.

At least we don't have to worry anymore about Tatum getting the role...that would have sucked!

I can't wait to see what the costumes are going to look like in this film.

A lesser known would have been cool (like Pine in Trek) but I'm okay that we didn't get that.

This is good news. Evans has acting chops unlike a lot of those that were named before. He was one of the bright spots (no pun intended) of the FF movies, and does his homework on characters. He's young enough for what they're wanting, and in good enough shape where he won't look like just a pretty boy for the part.

Congrats to him, and I hope the movie lives up to our best hopes.

I don't know s**t about Alice Eve so I'm not commenting on her but I'm be happy with either of the other choices for the female lead.

It was just they wanted an unknown between the ages of 23-32 and were going to surround him with bigger names.
