The whole chest hair discussion was a joke. Looking back I don't see a single post where someone is seriously complaining about the lack of chest hairs, just a lot of people kidding around and acting as though it were a legitimate complaint.

I like to think that Captain America would use a straight razor to get rid of his chest hair, not wax

well, I'd think that for the proposes of the movie, were suppose to believe he’s naturally hairless.... that were not suppose think that he shaves or whatever...

though, I am sure as young, skinny, wimpy Steve Rogers, was probably hairless, but, I'd think going through the transformation that he does would most likely increase growth....

On a more serious note related to the chest hair, perhaps they shaved his chest or waxed it to make it look more like someone that was about to under go an operation. I had colon cancer when I was 29 and they shaved the areas around my chest and abdomen where the operation occured to avoid infections and keep things sterile. Now I realize Chris Evans is not being sliced open, but perhaps they feel that undergoing this treatment is not unlike a surgery and therefore feel people will expect to see him free of hair to make it seem more realistic. Just a thought.
