Sequels Official Gambit Casting/Speculation Thread [merged-6]

no,theres others i know,i want him ian or leto for gambit either would be fine my me

sometimes Ian has the look sometimes he doesn't, in certain pics i see it
like not, so, much here imo

Sturmwolf i have read your posts for many days now and i really wonder if you have read comics or only just few issues of a certain writer and what books(if you are based on Milligan's run quit that b**s**t at once!).
Yeah...flame me.^^
I read comics for over 25 years...many years Marvel only with all X-titles I could take my hand on.
So don't try to go that way with me.:oldrazz:

And so it is quit the right place to get an answer to my question.^^
Here I find people who might know things about him that I missed.
I'm not trying to do a flame war with you all.
I'm curious about what makes this (<negative attitude here>) character so successful.

I'm here for the fun of posting and I have never had any intention of a flame war. I just wanted try my hand at debating for one of my favorite characters.

Yes, my friends, he was responding to my arguments. I must clarify some statements that I made. When I was talking about Gambit and Cable being two characters who questioned the way the X-Men do things, I was quoting one of the head writers. I did not say that Gambit and Cable are the same type of character, they just have that one aspect in common. When I said that Gambit is the only criminal bad boy to be a superhero, I meant that he is the only one who still engages in criminal activity, thievery only though, from time to time.

ian is my choice for gambit though,my #1 actually but he doesnt look like gambit there in that pic but their lives dont revolve around comic characters

It is just the impression i got from you writing. I was quite clear in my post that i have no intention to flame anyone around.

Hey Newbie here - (and please excuse me for my bad english :P )
I really hope that Gambit will make an appearance in X4 :)
I love him so much.
It's a shame how Marvel is treating him in the last years! *glares at Joe Q, Milligan etc.*
He isn't even in any comic anymore!
I hate that "Death"-look and hope that our letter campaign reached the stubborn Marvel-guys :P
Anyways, hope that Gambit will play a big role in the next movie :) If they destroy him like Rogue, then I will...... :cmad::cmad::cmad::cmad:
lol

Hey Emmymae! I'm a Romy-fan, too! :woot:

My dear SturmWolf, no one has any intention of flaming you. We've all been very cordial towards you. It's all about the comic love.

Hey CrazyDragon,
I'm so happy you're a Romy fan too.:woot: Gambit is coming back in X-Men #200 and will play a major part in the next story arc. I don't know how long he'll be Death. He'll be appearing I believe with Sinister. Rogue will be going through some terrible things this year.

I'm sure that Gambit will be appearing in the next X-films. Tim Rothman, head of Fox, said in an interview that Gambit and others left out of the films are sure to be seen onscreen in the future. I'm not sure when though. Movie Rogue had barely anything to do with comic Rogue and that really disappointed me. Storm wasn't even herself.

I'm still awaiting a Romy wedding. It's about time it happened, though it can't happen for a while with Gambit as Death and Rogue being in a bad situation.

You should check out the French Quarter site for comic news about Gambit and Rogue. The address is www.geocities.com/thefrenchquarter03/thefrenchquarter03. The website is updated weekly.:heart::heart::heart:

Thanks :woot: But don't worry, I know what happened in the latest comics issues etc.

I'm reading all the Gambit and Rogue comics and I know about what happened. I've read many updates on Mike Careys block.
Here are the newest updates:

"Gambit’s going to go through some serious stuff. And he’s going to face a huge moment of truth. The new powers, the new look… well, keep watching. And yeah, I think in some ways, it’s not inaccurate to say that he’s going back to his roots."

"Sunfire *will* be in the crossover, but it’s fair to say that he won’t be as prominent as Gambit."

"Jay - I don’t know. I’m guessing that Gambit still has his former powers, but might not have access to them while he’s Death. When he starts thinking of himself as Gambit again, all bets are off."

Q: Mike, I’ve been trying to keep the Gambit questions to a minimum lately, but I have to ask: Will he be returning to limbo after the crossover? Or will he be joining a team?

A: Christian, I can give you half an answer - not back into limbo.

Some more Gambit tidbits:

Q: Although Mike, I must ask, any chances of Gambit making the cover of #200? I mean, considering the arc will be about him. I do not envy the artist who must handle this milestone cover though, but i’m hoping its Bachalo.

A: Lord E - Gambit will be on *one* of the covers. When you see the solicits for this issue, your jaw will hit your toes.

Q: And i’m interested in if there is going to be any major dialogs between Gambit and Rogue or Gambit and Mystique.

A: Gambit/Rogue dialogue - count on it. But be prepared to wait for it. There’s a good reason why it doesn’t happen straight away.
Well, that sounds promising. I do believe that Carey will do a good work... maybe...

btw, apropos wedding Romy: I've seen somewhere a picture where Remy was proposing marriage to Rogue. But I can't remember where I've seen it :( (It wasn't X-Men: The End, it was something like another alternative universe...)

But I hate hate hate hate AoA for Rogue being married with Magneto! Eeewwww! It's like marring a 60 years old man! :wow:

I think the picture you're talking about was in one of the What if? X-Men issues. I hated Age of Apocalypse. It confused me. I didn't know if it was really happening or not and they cancelled their regular series for four months. It broke my heart not having Gambit and Rogue together. Thank goodness, Carey is bringing him back. I feel terrible about what's going to happen to Rogue. I can't wait for X-Men #200.

I feel terrible about what's going to happen to Rogue.

If you ask me, I'm more worried about Gambit :wow: You don't have to worry about Rogue because Carey loves her. As for Gambit, I'm not sure :(
Can't wait for #200 also.

I am certain that Carey will do his best to do justice to Gambit. He admitted that he didn't love him, but thinks he's a cool character who should be brought back. I wish he loved Gambit like he loves Rogue. Remy needs love right now. At least Carey has assured fans that Gambit isn't going back into limbo.

Greek Apostolis Totsikas for Gambit...:word:

found this old article about someone who was rumored, for x3 as gambit,
that Matthew Vaughn might of intesrted in, not sure, if there anything to it, but, has he been mentioned here, Jonathan Rhys Meyers

yeah lotta people like him for gambit,me im not too sure about it

when I saw that rumor, I was surprised, and excited. I think he is a good actor, and could be an interesting Gambit. But I think he is a little old right now.

he isnt old
he's only 3 yrs older than anna
its more like 5 years, (there b-days are like 3 day apart lol) hes 2-3 years older then shawn
I think around 29-30 is a good age for him, he shouldn't be part of the young generation, but, should still be young enough for rogue to flirt around with, (not to old, like creepyish father daughter thing she had with wolverine) but, if they can have (18-19 y.o. page) kitty and (26-27 y.o. shawn) bobby flirting, why not, you know i mean lol
I don't know how old her character is actally suppose to be, in the last movie, and who knows how long it well take if there another movie, to be made, or when it well be set (time wise)
anyway he shouldn't be limited by how old they made rogue
late 20s to early 30s is fine for gambit
(and of course there a differents between actully age and looks, he doen't look that old imo) the age of the characters have been lift up to debate in the movies
just speaking in gerenal, not saying all these just about, Jonathan Rhys Meyers

I saw him in Match point, of Woddy Allen and looked older than how I imagined him. I think he is older than 30, don't know why. I should search on imdb.

i thought anna was 26 already?wmm weird
and i think he will be 30 in five MONTHS not mouths

I hate Jonathon Rhys Meyers. He is so evil. Having him as Gambit would be a nightmare. I don't dig Paquin as Rogue to begin with nor their majorly watered down portrayal that has little to do with the character.
