Bradley Cooper would actually work well here.

He would fit playboy Ollie a lot better than fighterpilot Hal Jordan.

Aaron Eckhart would have been a solid Green Arrow/Oliver Queen, but I'm afraid his role as Harvey Dent/Two-Face in "The Dark Knight" killed that chance.

Oliver Queen/Green Arrow = Ryan Gosling

Dinah Lance/Black Canary = Jamie King

Eddie Fyers = Fred Weller

Shado = Chiaki Kuriyama

Brick = Ving Rhames

Merlyn = Simon Baker

Constantine Drakon = Jeremy Sisto

Count Vertigo = James Marsters

NOTE: I did decide to cast Oliver as a younger character, because WB/DC tends to do that. If they cast Oliver to be an older man I would cast Simon Baker in the role.
Also I cast Fyers alot differently from how he looks in the comics. Because frankly he just looks like Jim Gordon

One of the keys to success for a Green Arrow film....

Less Batman-esque, more modern day Robin Hood.

So what should happen with Ollie's fortune and company?

Should he sell it or have it stolen?

Fixed.

I mean really why do ppl want to cast Smallville actors in big screen roles. Unless the movie is gonna be a big screen spin off of Smallvile then cast someone else

It's easier to juts take the actor already playing him on tv, that's why. And he's good at his role. Now Tom Welling...there's no way in hell he ever be in a Supes film. He has to be tired of playing Clark Kent. In fact, I don't see him having much of a actor career past Smallville. Harsh, but probably true.

possible but we dont even know if he would want to do tv shows any more. Maybe he would want to try and get into films again, or do behind the scenes stuff like directing and all that. As for justin hartley i like his work as ollie in smallville wouldnt be against him for a ga show/film.

Justin Hartley would have made a much better Aquaman, imo.

YEa its a bit disapointing dawn o when cw formed passed on the Aquaman show, the pilot was pretty great and i would have loved to see what they had in store.

I don't like Hartley's Green Arrow, but it's no fault of him.

He puts a lot of energy into the role..BUT

it's mainly the writers and how they've handled.. well mishandled the character.

That episode where they showed Arrow's orgins on the island this season was laughably bad too.

Yea that was a bad episode of the season toxic, power, requiem was the wrost ones in my opinion of season 8, and to a degree doomsday season finale too. But overall the rest of the season was good. But this is GA talk not smallville. So Yea It would be Sweet to See GA happen. With the success batman had, and their is that robin hood movie coming out soon maybe it will show wb ga is viable.

Everything after "Legion" was mediocre-bad and ultimately forgettable. Despite the suckiness of S7, none of the 2nd half S8 episodes came close to "Descent" or "Apocalypse."

It's funny how the season started off with so much potential and declined so badly.

"Toxic" was bad I agree. But I thought that one with the "Injustice" Teens was even lamer.

The Smallville Green Arrow/Oliver Queen completely blows. But I don't blame Hartley, although I don't think he could pull off a proper Ollie.

So, I've been thinking. I think Edward Zwick would be a good choice as director for an adaption of Green Arrow: Year One.

for an origin movie, i dont know....but for the supermx movie that david s goyer is working on....David Wenham hands down

(300, Van Helsing, Lord of the Rings, Australia, Public Enemies)

I said this before wasnt it revealed that supermax pretty much has been shelved?

i'm not sure...i hope not, it was one of the most fresh and original ideas i had heard in a long time. a simple origin movie for GA isnt suffient... i fear that most of the non comic audience would just dismiss it as a batman knock off (super rich, dead parents, no powers, high tech gadgets/arrows). but supermax was something new entirely...i would hate to see that idea wasted. especially with goyer writing it, the man is a brilliant writer..a hit or miss director, but a great writer non the less. Goyer writing, plus someone like michael man to direct...then add a phenomenal actor like Wenham in the lead role. thats a winning formula my friend, one that WB needs to jump on.

Yea i agree it would have been an interesting take on a hero movie, and we would still likely have gotten some origin bits thrown in there, and pre prisoned GA expolits. I just was pointing out last i heard or seen online it was shelved for the time being and we know with wb's track record of dc characters to films if its shelved its probably going to stay shelved and never see the light of day.

As much as I would like to see Green Arrow: Supermax, I had a feeling that its concept evolved into WB deciding to do The Suicide Squad movie. You have to admit they do have simular elements.It's a shame.

Personally I would've liked to see BOTH films with Supermax giving us a Green Arrow solo franchise & spinning off a Suicide Squad franchise.

I honestly don't think it would be hard to illustrate the differences between Green Arrow/Oliver Queen and Bruce Wayne/Batman in a Green Arrow origin film. The two are very different from each other as people. All it would take is a script written by a Green Arrow fan or a comic book fan in general thats familiar with GA.

In today's political climate and with the way the world is, a proper Green Arrow feature could be quite powerful.

I like the idea behind Supermax, and I've read the script. It needs a hardcore polish because Ollie isn't reallly Ollie in the script. You don't get to see his political or his attitude, which makes his character so great. Also, you don't get Dinah either.

Either than that, I would like to see a Green Arrow movie one day.

I would love to see more dc guys make it onto the big screen while i am still young to enjoy them and all that. I am hoping hex and gl do well and maybe finally light the fire under wb's butts for more dc films.

I just hope for an expanded Green Arrow: Year One story for the first film. Maybe down the line SuperMax would be cool.

But I havent read the SuperMax script

To bad we cant u know pm it any more on par the site rules. I didnt read it myself either. But like others have said it is an interesting twist on hero films. To bad its likely not going to happen.

I don't want a Green Arrow movie unless it has those elements. Thats what makes the character unique and special.

In television speak, I think you could base the whole first season of a Green Arrow show using Year One as a template, with Ollie marooned on the island and facing off with China White and her drug operation. Work in some Lost-esque flashbacks of Ollie's hedonistic life beforehand, as it relates to whats going on in the individual episode.

Season two could then be the debut of the Green Arrow in Star City.
