DC is so slow when it comes to making movies, Supermax has been talked about for like 7 years but it hasnt even moved forward

7 years? really? thats seems like a bit of an exaggeration.

I gotta say, for my money, I'm all for Ewan Mcgregor. Really one of the great leading man actors out there. This movie would be all kinds of awesome with him + the right director.

Really?

I dont think Ewan has the smart-ass touch to be Ollie Queen.

I think Supermax has been talked about since Begins hit theatres, so that's 4 years. Either way, it's never going to happen. The way it was talked about it would include all the villains from various rogue galleries. Too much of an issue with casting I think. And considering we haven't heard anything after Dark Knight's success tells me it's either going in a different direction, or just a goner.

I have to say I like Bradley Cooper for Ollie. He has the attitude, he has the look with longer and lighter hair.

I have only read and loved Green Arrow since Smith's relaunch. Do they explain on Ollie's parents died in the older books (that I have yet to pick up because Im poor)? Or his relationship to them? If not then it would be very easy to explain it. I mean really... look at how similar Iron Man is to Batman but general audiences loved those movies.

I really liked Year One, I think it would really be a great first hour of film. I think kinda build the movie up so the last scene is Ollie as an established GA would be amazing.

I'm going to do one of those cool casting comparisons next. Right on dudes and dudettes.

I really think that Justin Marks is losing his streak now. I've read the majority of his scripts and they all have potential but they all need polish. Supermax needs another rewrite if they're going ahead with it. Include Black Canary would improve the script for sure because it raises the stakes for Ollie to get out of prison.

Anyway, Josh from Lost would be a great choice actually. I've always image that Ollie had a Southern swagger for some odd reason. He doesn't need to have a southern accent but just the attitude.

Yea i think alot of folks have said the general feel of the script was good but needed some polishing up to change/add certain elements into it. But more likely this is a project that isnt likely to be going any where for the forseeable future. Unless things have changed lately.

I really like Josh as a pick. Definitely a bit of southern attitude would work well with Ollie. Good pic sir.

As of right now, Supermax along with the Suicide Squad probably will never get made. If they do, then a movie based on The Dark Knight Returns or Kingdom Come could be next.

Either way, I really think that maybe Green Arrow will get his own origins movie. But at the sametime, after all these superhero movies, you have to think what will make Green Arrow stick out? They really have to put a lot of thought into a Green Arrow project and make it right, if it ever gets greenlit.

I was exaggerating but still its been talked about for awhile and has yet to move forward really. I thought the script was done so im not sure why they havent started casting and stuff.

I hope it gets made cuz the idea sounds pretty cool.

I think they could easily make a Green Arrow movie stand out on it's own. I think there are enough different elements from Tony Stark and Bruce Wayne that it would work great. I think one thing they would have to do is market it differently. They shouldn't market it as a comic film. They should market it as a superhero fun action film. For some reason I think being known as an obscure comic movie (obscure to general movie audiences) would really hurt it's chances. I think if it were presented to audiences as a new fun adventure they would get on board just as I did.

Supermax is still an unbelievable idea. In a time when all these superhero movies are being churned out (especially looking ahead at Marvel's slate), a Supermax-type film would be an unbelievable breath of fresh air.

YEa it would be great if they could get any GA film out there and done in a very good mannor like im/bb-tdk. It just sucks really pretty much all the big names at dc have some much trouble getting off the developmental stage. I said it before that is why i like marvel films(co/self financed films) more. They are willing to put a character out there. Some times it works, other times not so much.

It would be fresh, that's for sure. I just dont think general audiences would really connect to it. Granted I never read the script for Supermax but general audiences not knowing Green Arrow that well would kind of weaken the point wouldn't it?

i thought supermax was an origin story, but told in flashbacks ala batman begins. it would be more audience friendly to have him escape from supermax early on and then try to clear his name. a whole movie 1st movie in a prison without his costume and bow and arrow would be crappy, maybe.

I read some of the script (so bad I couldnt finish), but I dont remember any origins

how about Michael Fassbender:cwink:

Bradley Cooper or Josh Holloway are my picks to play Ollie.

And people need to get used to the idea that long developments are more common than short ones for films. One or two years in development is nothing when it comes to studio development patterns.
