Yeah, I think they're just waiting for the rest of the cast to get finalized.

I think that way, they can announce someone new in the trades on a consistent basis, instead of waiting for months on end.

This Adam Beach fellow seems like a great fit for Tom. And I like how based on his demeaner, he's not going to be the butt of jookes like he was in the script. Which is great. Becauser the bad humor came from him. I hope he's a little more active then just spouting out humor.

Adam Beach is a terrible actor IMHO. If he gets cast my excitement level is going to go down a little bit.

I've only seen him in Smoke Signals and he was fine in that. Otherwise, unless he just dumped his talent as an actor down the toilet, I wouldn't know if he's now terrible or not.

i dont know his work at all myself, though i dont think this tom role would be that hard to do.

I'm not the type to just call any and every actor bad but I just haven't liked him in anything I've seen him in.

That's probably why he's been struggling somewhat. It's obvious that it's hard being a Native American actor, but after Smoke Signas, he's been lost career wise.

Even being cast in Windtakers and Flags of Our Fathers, people still don't know him. Maybe there's a reason for that..I don't know. I wouldn't call him terrible though.

Perhaps a sign that they really need to make a Scalped TV series soon?

yea he probably is having a tough time finding work. Since i dont think alot of productions are really looking for native american decent actors and all that.

Just an idea, but what about Rachel Weisz for Carol Ferris? She's worked with Ryan Reynolds in 'Definitely, Maybe'

she is a pretty nice actress i wouldnt be against her if she was picked.

I don't know if this will be a factor, but I think it will in later movies. Rachel, though she is hot and young looking, is 40. If she can still be youthful enough (and hot) in her 40s (like Mary Louis Paker), then go for it.

But I feel like Rachel has gone beyond conventional Hollywood movies. I can see her just doing dramas and indie movies from this point on. When she did The Mummy, her career was at a different place.

Well, it's like I said, it was just an idea. I had all those same concerns in mind when I mentioned her as well.

Actually, if Rachel Wiesz was going to be cast in a DC comics film, I'd like to see her portray Talia in a Nolanverse Bat-film

I personally wouldn't mind a female lead in that age group. I think its generally tiresome when Hollywood so seldom casts women over like 25-30 in films. Rachel Wiez is a good actress and very attractive. But I still think they will cast someone who is younger. Hopefully a good likable actress.

Hadn't thought about Rachel Weisz as Carol. Years ago I pictured her as Wonder Woman. I hate to say it but I think the age factor would work against her. RR is in his early 30s playing a character most likely in his late 20s, so they'll go with about the same for Carol. That means someone like Rachel McAdams or Emily Blunt. As long as it isn't Britney Spears looking for a career change.
