So what is going on with THE GREEN LANTERN movie?

Not much has been heard about the film since they cast Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan/Green Lantern and the production was pulled out of Australia.

Well, I did my usual snooping around and I was able to nail down who the five candidates are for the role of CAROL FERRIS – Hal Jordan’s love interest in the film.

Per the script, Carol Ferris (27) is the daughter of aerospace mogul Carl Ferris. She works for her dad’s company FERRIS AIR, got an MBA, and has a lifetime crush on Hal Jordan.

According to my sources, the five candidates are:

1) James Bond heartbreaker EVA GREEN

2) The voice of DC’s animated WONDWER WOMAN film KERI RUSSELL

3) Helen of TROY’s DIANE KRUGER

4) Gossip girl’s BLAKE LIVELY

5) and JENNIFER GARNER

So who do you guys think will get the part? Tough call, but IN MY OPINION I personally think it’s between Diane Kruger and Keri Russell.

Both Kruger and Russell are the same age as Ryan Reynolds (33).

My personal favorite is Keri Russell. I think she killed it in Mission Impossible 3 but Hollywood is a town that runs on heat and Diane Kruger is coming off Inglorious Basterds and has become the new global spokesmodel for L’Oreal. If that is not heat then I don’t know what is.

I guess we will know soon enough as production on GREEN LANTERN is slated to begin next month.

I'm rooting for Diane Kruger and Eva Green. Sorry, I'm not digging Jennifer Garner. I can't put my finger why I don't want her and it's not because of Daredevil..

i think personally campbell would end up going with diane or eva, and blake i would consider is who the studio would want. But if filming is due to start in jan, she is still shooting that CW show she does, so i dont really know if she would be free to shoot down in new orleans.

It really comes down to the Warners.

yea he ryan was probably a compromise for campbell but i think he is still a good pick. God would i have been pissed if they went with timberlake, cooper i would have been fine with also. But personally think eva/diane/keri would be better picks.

I would have preferred the Inglorious Bastards dude.. Michael Fassbender. He was in the running too and looks picture perfect like the comic Hal.

But I can live with Reynolds, as long as he plays it differently than his usual comedy roles.

Hal with a snarky fast talking high-pitched voice would be totally strange. But Ryan is definetely capable of changing his acting style from the norm, I've seen it.

Even though the early drafts of the script painted Hal as an immature man-child, I'd still want Ryan to play him as more of an adult like in SA, as opposed to his boyish Wally West-like delivery in his other films.

Common as John Stewart in the sequel... would be hilariously epic.

Oh please God no Common such a lackluster actor.
THe only thing he does fine is look cool and appear for less than 10 mins in a film.

I mean his line delivery in that one seen in Terminator Salvation. "LOOK AT IT IT'S BEAUTIFUL".

He wasnt even good at voice acting in the Wanted game and he was bad in a TV show I saw him guest star are.

Besides that he doesnt even look like JOhn much besides the JLU beard. When it comes to music (which I know alot of ppl on here hate rap music) Common is the man and is one of my favorites, but acting....not at all

Probably not since his role is so small. Maybe around the time of 300. but I was watching him in Basterds and he reminded me of Superman for some reason

And John Stewart is such a secondary player... having someone like Common playing him fits well.

Not at all. John is not the biggest player but that doesnt mean he should be played by a below average actor

the only movie i liked him in was in Smokin' Aces. Or at least, he had enough lines where he did fine. Seriously, he's been in so many movies like American Gangster, Wanted, and Terminator Sal, but he probably had less than 5 lines in each movie.

I'm just being realistic. He seems the type of background actor they would throw into a role like that.

I don't know. I've saw John Stewart as a guy who's authoritative but very soulful. Common can be soulful and shows warmth, as noted in Smokin' Aces, but he's kinda limited in every other department...so far.

didnt folks bring up Michael Fassbender name for ollie/aquaman too. I think he could work well for ollie.
