Jason Isaacs HAS to be Sinestro. He has the evil, pompous demeanor down pat....

I see you went with my John Stewart choice, and I would only agree if it was only John Goodman's voice and either another actor in prosthetics or a really good CGI character. Also I'm diggin your Guy and Hal choices.

Thanks. I watched The reaping last night which he was in, and it never dawned on me, but after you said, I thought Damn! That IS John Stewart.

He's Namor. That way, he doesn't become the token outright bad guy, but misunderstood and for once badass character.

Danny Mcbride are you serious? The guy is funny and all but he aint Guy Gardner

I could see Jason Isaacs as Sinestro or Namor. Both would work.

Scott Caan can not only act like Garder but he has the added benefit of really looking like a former football playing Marine.

Out of those only Franco is a really good actor, but Duhamel can be made to look the part the most. I wish we could get Worthington!

I think Hartnett is definitely not a bad actor and Duhamel is improving.

A "great" actor is not needed in the role IMO. Just an actor who is a name, and has solid acting experience who can play the hot shot type who must learn humility.

The script doesn't requires a great actor, so I'll agree on that. Not sure if they want a name? Considering Gosling and (Casey) Affleck were offered the roles, they are not necessarily looking for a name, just a good actor to work with.

I thought I would take another stab at a GL cast based on the characters that seem to be set to appear. Its not particularly inspired so feel free to criticize.

Hal Jordan: James Franco
Carol Ferris: Ann Hathaway
Sinestro: Hugo Weaving
Hector Hammond: Paul Giamatti
Tom Kalmaku: Masi Oaka
Kilowog: John Goodman, Ving Rhimes, Michael Clark Duncan, or Dennis Haysbert
Tomar-Re: Doug Jones or Brent Spiner
Carl Ferris: James Caan
Martin Jordan: Greg Kinnear
Guy Gardner: Sean William Scott
Alan Scott: Robert Redford

The Guardians and Legion would of course be props/CGI creations.

He's too likable to be Guy Gardner. I'd like him as Barry Allen.
Don't miss The Hurt Locker, he's great in it.

I dont think hes likeable in the Barry Allen way. Hes got roguish charm and most of his earliest roles were jackasses.

SWAT, North Country, Assassination of Jesse James, 28 Weeks Later, The Heart is Decietful Above All Things. All have some level of jackass or roguish charm and these are his more recognizable appearances and/or important characters.

I think Affleck would have been mis cast personally.

They should look to get Hartnett, Duhamel, or Franco as Hal and get a solid supporting cast.

Hugo Weaving or Jason Isaacs would be perfect as Sinestro.

Redford would be great as Alan Scott!

I've seen some interesting suggestions for the casting of Hector Hammond. My longstanding choice was David Straithairn, but the script would imply that they're skewing younger with the character in the film. The script says late thirties, so that probably gives us a scope from mid thirties to mid forties.

Someone suggested Hugh Laurie earlier, which I think is a strong choice. David Thewlis is one of those guys I never would have thought of, but looking at the guy he would be a great fit for the role. If Greg Berlanti decides to go with someone he knows, Johnny Lee Miller might work on the younger end of the spectrum. Paul Giamatti isn't really a natural fit for the role, but he's talented enough that I think he could pull it off if they cast him.

Whoa! Paul Giamatti FTW! THAT JUST FITS! Look at it...
James Franco
Paul Giamatti
Hugo Weaving
Rachel McAdams
