The Variety article makes it sound like the script for Damn Yankees has yet to be written, so there might still be time in his schedule for GL.

I hadn't thought of Channing Tatum. He might well be a contender. It looks like he'd be free to do it, too.

Other than Damn Yankees, no. At least nothing else is mentioned on his imdb page.

Channing is a good actor, suits Hal IMO, and has a good look for a young origin Hal

I hadn't thought of Channing Tatum. He might well be a contender. It looks like he'd be free to do it, too.

I truly hope they do not go with Tatum, he's a horrible actor.

I disagree, i think he has talent, and can see him as an action star, and IMO a role like Hal plays to his strengths.

Still, Id prefer Gyllenhaal, Tatum, then Evans. Those are my top three for now. I'm still a little scared Orlando Bloom might end up with the role, and while I don't hate him, he is someone I cannot see as Hal.

It's silly to have Emile Hirsch or Yelchin as GL next to Bale and Routh

Flash can be a younger dude, but Hal Jordan looks as old as Batman and Superman.

He isn't a youth like Kyle Rayner.

They gotta get someone who can at least pass as a veteran hotshot pilot.

If I'm not mistaken, in the Air Force you have to have already graduated Flight School before the age of 28. Hal is 27 in the script. I wouldn't worry about Yelchin. He's just a name on a list. I'm still betting Jake will get the part, if not it will go to someone like Bloom.

He's up there with the likes of Ledger and Bale.

That's true.

It's really his voice that throws me off. Jake's voice is kinda like Michael J Fox's. I always thought Hal should have a much lower commanding voice

Jake can be a great soldier. Jarhead sold me on him being Hal.

The producers really REALLY want Ryan Gosling. Even though he initially passed they are going to try again. Anything is possible but insider folks believe he is going to pass yet again. Hell, look at how many times the Dodgers went to Manny Ramirez and how many times he's passed on their offer.
