I didn't like it either especially considering

he could have just pulled the pin on the grenade, jumped the the safe hole, and accomplished the same thing that he did when he held the grenade and went all "suicide bomber" himself

I wish they had incorporated the whole plot point of him being a "boogeyman" to the infected people that was in the book. Still not a bad movie though.

Yeah, it was a cool way of going out though.

I guess after losing his family and everything he had, he started to live and survive only to find a cure. Now that he found it, I guess he didn't need anything else to hold on to.

Was I the only one channeling Alfred Pennyworth when...

Neville was strung up...I was thinking to myself "Whats the good of all those pull-ups if you cant lift your bloody body [to cut the rope]?"

[QUOTEFOR THE LAST TIME THEY ARE NOT VAMPIRES? what planet are you people on?][/QUOTE]

A planet with a book called "I Am Legend" written by Richard Matheson ?

What really confuses me about this movie is the fact that it cost 150million to make. Where did the budget go? Will Smith was probably paid 30 to 40million. What was the remaining 110million spent on because this film was not a CGI extravaganza?

this is an adaptation...different creatures.

A planet where calling something that bites necks, drinks blood and has adverse reactions to UV light a vampire is a suitable description. What planet are you from?

All I can think about is that with I AM LEGEND doing well, does that mean the WB will go ahead with an adaption of Y: The Last Man movie???!!!!

never read the book but i saw this movie saturday afternoon and i loved everything up until...

...Neville kills himself.
to me, that part felt anti-climactic and forced. with a few tweaks throughout the script they could've made the ending more faithful and satisfying but i was disappointed with it. like i said, i loved everything except the ending.

Having never read the novel I loved the movie and liked the ending. IMO, this was Will Smiths best performance.

I know it's been talked about, but I liked that World's Finest movie poster. But unfortunatly, in real life WB would make a Batman/Superman movie when the world ends.

Does anyone have a screen grab of that poster?

can someone tell me why the hell they had to use 3rd rate computer animation on the creatures when people in makeup would have looked so much better.
The ****ty CG really ruined the movie for me.

As everyone else has already stated, the movie was absolutely ****ing fantastic...

except for the horrendous ending and the CGI-people fest. When is hollywood going to realize that CGI = more money, less realism. Stupid...

See the thing that bugged me about I AM LEGEND, they got Robert right for the most part.

But what bugged me is that Robert is not suppose to be a savior to the human race. In the end he realizes that he's the dinasour that's suppose to be extinct. He's a legend to the vampires, not to the humans. Thats what made the book ending so great.

The movie ending was just all hollywood.

But overall it was pretty well rounded movie. There are scenes that I like what they did. The scenes with the dog I found enjoyable. The dog was fleshed out more and I ended up liking it. I didn't like how Anna didn't turn out to turn out to be Ruth like I hoped. IMO I think, the head vamp was a loose translation of Ben Cortman. Just my IMO.

Francis Lawrence has some serious talent. What he did with New York was amazing. The part where Robert goes after Sam in the dark room was really terrifying. But his fault comes with adaptation and he can't really finish a movie strong.

One last thing.

What the hell was up with the Batman/ Superman poster. I know there is not a movie coming out. Was it for a cartoon? Or was it an earlier poster from when the movie was supposedly happening?

i fixed it for you. did it ever occur to you that maybe some dont want to know how the book ends until they , ya know, read it?

and while we are at it whats with everyone giving away the end of the movie too? use spoiler tags you heathens:cmad:

Perhaps the majority of the FX budget was spent on the deserted New York visuals, because that was very well done.

this may have been answered already but what happened to this scene?

I didn't think it would cost 110million to produce those visuals. There are many less expensive movies that had better special effects than this one. Transformers cost 147million and it has some of the most impressive effects ever made. Starship Troopers had great effects and it cost 105million to make.

who here loved the "Batman vs. Superman" billboard at the beginning of the movie?

Francis Lawrence would probably remake Citizen Kane where the reporter figures out what Rosebud means.
