lol just realized the chick that was cured, turned out to get fried along with Robert

Wow, you're right. I totally forgot about her because everything was happening so quick and the chaos was everywhere. She got cured and killed right along with Neville and the Infected. Guess she got cured for nothing then, eh?

Posting almost everything in spoiler tags seems silly...but I'll play.

not only did the cured infected get destroyed...but ALL of Neville's work, documentation and that sweet Mac got destroyed...what a waste

Well if it makes anyone feel better I've been doing market surveys for a little extra spending cash as of late...

One of which was cramming down my throat the "Would you buy I am Legend on DVD with these features!?" Questions...

there were short films by Will's wife, commentaries.. the usually but one of said extras was an ALTERNATE ENDING if it was already filmed, I am sure you guys are getting it.

In the original book ending:

Neville gets captured by people who are infected but are able to keep the infection somewhat at bay. Since they look the same as the monsters he's been killing, he had been killing them as well. He realizes before he dies that he is no longer normal. Infected people are normal, and that to them, he is a monster. A creature that mothers will tell stories about to scare their children. He is the thing that goes bump in the night and the boogeyman under their bed. He is Legend.
whait a minute. so did they filmed the books ending? because then some scenes would make more sense.

the creatures wanted to catch him with the doll. and the leader was always looking he was inteligent.

teh books endign sounds 100 times better to me.

yeah will was good in this role.

yeah i think in the trailer there is a shot of the alternate ending.
i think there is a close up of roberts face and the creature.

Well, possible since the new ending was filmed way after the trailer.

I watched the movie yesterday.

Will Smith played his part quite well. I was amazed. The first two thirds of the movie were great, the abandoned New York, his daily routine, Neville slowly losing his marbles while trying to maintain normal human interaction by talking to mannequins, the night-time terror and screams.
The infected disappointed me, though. Mindless savages. Plus they looked remarkably like the robots in "I, Robot".
Then the woman and kid arrived. The movie went down-hill after that. It seemed like somebody noticed they were running out of time, so they wrapped everything up with a nice, neat Hollywood ending. The main character - soldier, scientist, a polymath - figured out a cure just as the other characters arrived, apparently sent by God or some higher force, spouting crap about how everything is connected, a plotline that was never even hinted at in the rest of the movie, and then died protecting them from the evil monsters, so they could deliver said cure to the remaining humans.
I haven't read the book itself, but I'm in the process of tracking a copy of it in English, down, since there isn't a translated version. I did read the plot summary and spoiled the ending for myself with Wikipedia and I have to say.. A faithful adaptation would've been a million times better in every way.

:brucebat: :supes: 2012

He'd be the first one to see it

Was I seeing things, or did Fred move? If you've seen it, you know the scene.

No doubt he moved. The first thing I thought was it was a vamp who could withstand the light since he was wearing a hoodie.

the creatures from the inside of the building moved the dolly. it was a trick to get him there.
they were very inteligent. thats why the books ending makes 100000times more sense.

But his head moved. It was a dummy, how would it's head move?

wires,..
i dont know. but it moved right?
i mean it was a trap for christ sake. :cmad:and you know that robert didn do this.

the alternate(original) ending was filmed. and everything in this movie with the creatures would make more sense IMO.

I know the vamps did it, it's just that it moved in an organic way. Not a rope and pully type movement. I'm not sure that it wasn't a vamp in disguise at first, then pulled a switcharoo with the dummy.

We'll know better when the DVD comes out.

It moved for the same reason Neville saw his family for a split second when Anna and Ethan were in his kitchen, he was half nuts.

Ok, but we didn't see it from his perspective. It was a semi-zoom shot. If that is the case, and you are very possibly right, it was poorly done.

I don't remember the specifics of the shot structure, but you're right if it wasn't a perspective shot that's a bit of an error.

Watched this with a friend of mine and thought it was good with a great performance Mr.Smith. Only wished that it had been longer.:o

Now i can see why it wasn't released in the summer. There's just too many quiet moments for that kind of audience. At times it's a very tense and emotional film but it also has lighter moments and Smith pulled those off very well as expected.

I got really choked up when Neville had to kill Samantha after she got infected and that Please say hello to me scene with the mannequin....oh man.:(
I saw the movie at an IMAX theater. The ticket is a little more expensive but it's worth every penny IMO. So if you live near one then i'd advice to go see it there. The sound and picture is unlike anything a normal theater can provide plus as added bonus you get to see 6 minutes of the The Dark Knight.:word:

BTW Emma Thompson plays a small role in the movie as the [BLACKOUT]woman who cures cancer[/BLACKOUT]. I had no idea she was even cast IAL.
