Th Last Man on Earth is a beautiful film which still holds up today. Omega Man feels more dated than it. The last man on earth is a horror classic which captured the isolation expressed in the novel.

This film looks to be focussing to much on action than isolation and loss of sanity which made both the novel and The Last Man on Earth classics.

Now I really have to give myself a kick in the balls! I'd never seen the original "The Last Man on Earth", had no idea Vincent Price was in it!! I love Vincent Price, he's a fun actor to watch in his films. I'm just wondering though, does he ham it up like always or does he act a little more straight and serious for this one?

He's actually quite fantastic in the film. He has an inner-monologue going through out the entire film (like in the book), and he manages to create some very emotional moments. The only problem I had with Price was that he looked rather effeminate and weak whenever trying to do something involving physical strength. You'll know what I mean if you see the movie.

New Legend pic

I grew up on THE FRESH PRINCE OF BEL-AIR. I can remember the huge hype that was MEN IN BLACK the year I started high school and really dug it when he battled some mechanical villains in I, ROBOT. However, I could not be more excited to see him battling mutant vampires in the upcoming I AM LEGEND.

The reason I mention this is because the picture you see above is the latest from the flick which finds Smith as the last man on Earth battling a population that's been mutated by a virus into vampire like creatures that are attempting to kill him.

I love this story, I love that they cast Smith as Neville, and I loved the trailer. I know that the film has skewed slightly from the original book but I still think that I AM LEGEND is going to rock pretty hard, and I can't wait to see it.

Nice pic. Where's it from? Got a bigger version?

Is this pic new?

'I Am Legend' Writer Already Pitching Sequel?

Even though Warner Bros. I Am Legend adaptation is still a long way from hitting theaters, writer Mark Protosevich is already pitching a sequel, the LA Times writes, "There is no word yet on how Protosevich plans to extend the story of lone military scientist Robert Neville's struggle to survive against a mutant populace. But it's a good bet that he's setting it at least 10 years in the future." I AM LEGEND hits theaters December 14, 2007.

:csad: Well my hope of seeing the movie end like the book is gone now. Dang to bad. I should have known better.

I know how you feel. Of course, maybe we'll see the ending in the sequel.

Protosevich Pitches I Am Legend Sequel

The Los Angeles Times is reporting that original I Am Legend screenwriter Mark Protosevich has already pitched Warner Bros. on a sequel, though no deal has yet been finalized. The Will Smith action-thriller, directed by Francis Lawrence, hits theaters on December 14.

It has been more than a decade since Protosevich wrote an adaptation of Richard Matheson's classic 1954 horror/sci-fi novel about the last man alive after a biological war. Writers were occasionally hired to work on it and over the years, Protosevich was hired four different times to tweak the script, until writer-producer Akiva Goldsman took on the project in 2005 and moved the action from L.A. to New York City.

The newspaper says there is no word yet on how Protosevich plans to extend the story of lone military scientist Robert Neville's struggle to survive against a mutant populace.

f**king ******ed... i really wanted to see the ending from the Book, Will would have made that scene great :(

LOL @ sequel thing. This reminds me of the time Avi Arad said he and Sony were talking about a sequel to Ghost Rider before it was released. Then when it was released and numbers came back in, he stuttered...

Anyway, premise for this seems good but the teaser did nothing for me.

Me to!

Now I am a bit unhappy I loved the last act in the book was great, so now I take it none of that is going to happen and they are going to make the infected people look like animals or something and not a new race :cmad:
