Well I just finished reading the book and all I can say is WOW I can't believe just how good it really is, after reading all the positive posts on this board and after talking to my friends who had read it I just had to, and I am not the biggest book reader in the first place, thank god it was only 160 pages t:

But now after reading it, I have a few questions about the movie, my first would be this is a very dark, grim book, why would anybody release this in December around Christmas time? It is not a very cheerful story.

My second is much easier, if they go by the book, how the hell could anyone do a sequel? But again, after reading some of the posts on the board and hearing how they are going to end the film, this movie may not be as good as the book which is a real shame.

But now after reading it, I have a few questions about the movie, my first would be this is a very dark, grim book, why would anybody release this in December around Christmas time? It is not a very cheerful story.

Regarding the "repopulation of the planet", PG-13 rating, so you won't be seeing this, maybe the unrated directors porno cut DVD, LOL.

Read the book. The book is a very graphic depiction of a man's isolation as being the last man on earth. He's constantly killing vampires, female vampires trying to seduce him, him accidently mutilating himself numerous instances, and of course the finale where everything goes to hell in a hand basket.

So there's a lot of concepts that call for an R rating in my opinion.

Not in the way the book has it and not in a fashion that makes it realistic. I feel in a PG-13 way it waters down the content and takes away the impact of the concept. But that's just my opinion on the matter. Not saying that everyone has to agree with me, just saying that I Am Legend is a story with a plot that is graphic, depressing, and realistic.

Yeah, it's PG-13 for the same reason most comic book flicks are rated the same.
