I'm gonna see just because a "black man" is the last human alive in a Sci Fi movie!
lol.gif

Heh, Political correctness at its most incorrect.

All right maybe a 10 doesn't mean the same for everyone! That s why I never trust the reviews done by the audience! It just doesn't make sense...I saw a 10 for the movie Norbit can you imagine?

All ratings are subjective...on any scale. Why I really never trust reviews. What they say is a 3 star movie is may be an exaggeration to me.

I loved this movie... Even though it didn't follow the book. And the ending was kinda lame. But everything else was great!!

Smith has another huge hit. $29.5 million first day box office take. Should get $70-80 million for the weekend...not bad.

For some reason Will Smith can never make a great movie. Their always "
Ok' like I robot. This movie started out great but the girl, the kid, the bad cgi, dumb mutant whatevers and the ending ruined the movie. This movie is nothing like I am Legend it really is just a re-make of omega-man.

The problem with this movie is it's too damn short. I liked everything about it up until the end. The movie should have been at least 30 minutes longer.

I Am Legend is one of the better movies of 2007. I gave it a 8/10. 75%-80% of the movie was pretty awesome. Just didn't like the ending. Its a pretty well-rounded movie, though.

Why didn't the head vampire attack Smith after he killed the vampire dogs? He a a perfect opportunity. How does the girl just "know" that there's a colony, or even how to get to it? I mean, God told her? That's the best answer they could come up with? What was the point of having a kid in the movie?

I thought the first half was decent, but definitely not anything groundbreaking or memorable a year from now.

The TDK prologue was better than the entire I am Legend film.

The ending sucked. In my opinion "The last man on Earth" is a far better film in every way possible.

See the thing that bugged me about I AM LEGEND, they got Robert right for the most part. But what bugged me is that Robert is not suppose to be a savior to the human race. In the end he realizes that he's the dinasour that's suppose to be extinct. He's a legend to the vampires, not to the humans. Thats what made the book ending so great. The movie ending was just all hollywood.

But overall it was pretty well rounded movie. There are scenes that I like what they did. The scenes with the dog I found enjoyable. The dog was fleshed out more and I ended up liking it. I didn't like how Anna didn't turn out to turn out to be Ruth like I hoped. IMO I think, the head vamp was a loose translation of Ben Cortman. Just my IMO.

Francis Lawrence has some serious talent. What he did with New York was amazing. The part where Robert goes after Sam in the dark room was really terrifying. But his fault comes with adaptation and he can't really finish a movie strong.

One last thing.

What the hell was up with the Batman/ Superman poster. I know there is not a movie coming out. Was it for a cartoon? Or was it an earlier poster from when the movie was supposedly happening?

Dodger, I agree with your whole post. The negated the whole ending of the book, and the meaning of the title itself.

Akiva Goldsman, who wrote the masterpiece Batman and Robin, wrote the screenplay for IAL. So I think it was an in-joke.

Will Smith was great in it. I thought the first hour was excellent, but as soon as the girl came and Shrek came on, it went downhill.

And what was with the "Light over Darkness?" when it went to black?

Yeah, I agree with you. I thought Will Smith's character was the last human being, and him alone. So, seeing that girl and the kid, it kind of ruined it.

The dog, Sam, she was cool. That was my favorite character.

There's this one point in the film, where Will Smith's character, he's being chased out of this building, by the infected. The infected don't like the light, so this building is all shut down. Will Smith went in to go get his dog. So, he's being chased and he jumps out of the building and one of the infected grabs him as he jumps, so the infected went to. And its daylight outside, so the infected being starts banging his head against the pavment. I was laughing my a** off, at that part. OMG, I just couldn't stop laughing.

I can agree with this. This film really didn't wow me, mainly because it was nothing new or special. It was worth a watch, but not a keeper. 7/10

Yep...At work, people kept asking me, "Yo, how is that I Am Legend?" I always say, "It wasn't too bad. I give it a 7 out of 10". :p

The first hour of the movie was really good though...and Sam's and Robert's interaction were top-notch. Smith has never done a dramatic role quite like this before and I think he's starting to prove why he's been twice nominated for Academy Award..

Smith did a good job. The look of an abandoned NYC looked great as well. I also liked the explanation for the mutation/infection.

But that's about it. After Sam died, the movie went downhill and I can't recommend it. I'm still pissed about the ending.

I expected the movie not to follow the book, and for the most part I was cool with that. But the ending was totally unforgivable. Smith's Neville made a stupid choice he didn't have to, and the colony totally robbed the movie of the meaning of the novel's title and purpose.

I also thought that the CGI mutants were too unbelievable. I wish they had used real actors.

I give this film a D.

I didn't like it either especially considering

he could have just pulled the pin on the grenade, jumped the the safe hole, and accomplished the same thing that he did when he held the grenade and went all "suicide bomber" himself

I wish they had incorporated the whole plot point of him being a "boogeyman" to the infected people that was in the book. Still not a bad movie though.

Saw this movie last night and I liked it. I loved the little horror and sci-fi elements because those kept me interested. If I had any problems with this movie, it'd have to be that it was too short. Overall, I give it an eight out of ten.

The scenes between Robert and Sam were the best. They did a good job of freaking me out during that scene in the building.

The ending is very Hollywood but I thought the move was good. I guess I understand why he did what he did by the end... I think maybe he was too fargone mentally for anything else.

The people in my theater laughed at the thought that an Batman/Superman movie being advertised for 2009 release.
