Spider-man 1
Spider-man 2 :up::up::up:
Spider-man 3

I agree with your ratings but when I add up all my joyous moments from all three Spidey movies (for me) they add up more than the joyous moments in the Nolan Batman trilogy and X-Men trilogy.

Iron Man 1
Iron Man 2
Iron Man 3

This hatred of IM2. Where is this coming from? The average moviegoer doesnt think like this. It was a popular movie and pretty well reviewed when it came out. People here talk about it like its Spider Man 3 or Episode I. Not saying its a great movie but its a entertaining one.

lol I dont think anyone hates IM2, people are just saying it was a tad bit dissapointing after IM1 and also trumping over IM2 is an easy task. at least it gave us [BLACKOUT]war machine action more than IM3[/BLACKOUT]

what's the point of trying to change other people's opinions on a film? none, i feel.

i loved iron man 3. that's all that matters to me. i could defend this movie against those who say they hated it, but it just seems so pointless... like, what would i be trying to prove to myself? that i loved the movie and that my feelings are justified?

i know i loved the movie. others may feel the opposite. and that's fine by me :)

same thoughts here, i was the first to be heavily disappointed by the plot twist until i actually watched the film. The marketing is the one to blame here and the movie did make a fool out of the Mandarin's appearance, which i thought was a bad idea.

Sad to see that some think Iron man is just about a man with a suit of armor.

The majority of my non geek friends hate IM2. I have no idea why, I really enjoy it.

There is always going to be people who will dislike a movie, but I think it is far fetched to consider IM2 with the levels of Spiderman 3 and Last Stand.

That is how my friends percieve the movie (IM2). It would have been interesting to see how many people would have seen IM3 if there wasn't Avengers between IM 2 and 3.

IM2 commits the ultimate film sin. It is boring. It has long stretches where nothing truly happens. It is 20mins of story stretched over 2 hours. Chunks of time when you are just waiting for something relevant to happen.

Even Shane Black criticized it as having the middle part of the movie just being Tony lounging around his house.

And he remedies this by having the middle part of his movie just being Tony lounging around in someone else's house ? At least Tony's house rocks.

When I first saw IM2 I hated it. But it got better upon subsequent viewings. Its hard to not like RDJ even when he's just doing nothing. Its a very likable film.

I think the main problem with the iron man series is that it misses a key component of the comic book character because it is owned by disney. Remember Demon in a Bottle? It was a dark complicated story. In Iron Man 2 it was a joke. A fun joke because of RDJ's charisma, but a joke none the less. Now we have another serious story that people are saying isn't taken very serious. Extremis had a very serious complicated plot that explained the psychological motivations for why people create technology and how it affects them. And again it seems the film treats the story very tongue and cheek.

I like IM2 because I like Downey/Tony and Tony is as snarky as ever. I couldn't care less about the lack of competent villain or action because I was entertained by Tony's aimless riffing.
I like IM2 more than IM3 because whilst IM3 has more action and argubly more Tony, they presented me with one thing and then delivered another.
With IM2 I was presented with one thing and then given it.

No, I don't want everything predictable and wrote but that bait and switch was taking the piss.

I like IM2 as well. Sure it has some shortcomings, but I can't stand people talking about it, like it's Spider-man 3 bad or Fantastic Four bad. There are a few places where IM2 loses its way, and it's probably the weakest of the Marvel Studios films, but it's leaps and bounds better than a lot of other comic book movies.

It has many shortcomings. Different shortcomings from other frowned upon Superhero movies, but just as many nevertheless.

What makes it more watchable is that cast. But the writing is a mess.

And they're not wrong. The whole movie isn't taken very seriously. In fact, it is probably the funniest of the three, and yet tries to be the most serious.

Well I wouldn't say it's a Spider-Man 3/Fantastic Four/X3 bad, but it's still not the best if you compare it to other Marvel movies. But it was an entertaining film for me, I must admit.
