For me;
IM1 (by a mile)
Avengers
Thor
IM2
Cap
IM3

wow you really disliked IronMan 3 that much? [BLACKOUT](Was is because of the whole twist thing with Kingsely not being the actual Mandarin? because I personally think if you actually look at it the Mandarin was portrayed as good as possible in today's world coming from what a racist character he is. Killian had the attitude, skills, and tattoos of Mandarin while Kingsley had the look and intimidation part of him.) perfect use of putting that villain in the movie and also providing a great twist from out of nowhere that worked perfectly in the context of the movie.[/BLACKOUT] I loved Tony's journey, the action scenes, the minor villains and the major villains. thought it was a great overall experience.

Guess that goes to show how 2 people can essentially watch 2 different movies lol.

The montage is a perfect '10' the rest of the movie (for me) drops down to a '7', I just wasn't engaged by any of the characters and didn't get the tone or humour. The montage however has be ranked amoung the best 10 minutes of cinema ever.

Maybe just being a 18-19 year old when the movie came out helped with the particular humor they had in that movie, i loved the silly one liners and the scenes with Russell just being an awkward kid (like the GPS scene where it flies out the window lol)

IM3 still remains the only MCU film that I love enough to watch it twice in the cinema.

After watching it last week, I have to say I'm disappointed to say the least. The film wasn't terrible on the level of Wolverine or Transformers. It was entertaining enough as long as you don't call it an Iron Man film.

The Mandarin was this film's cardinal sin. No, not because he wasn't like the comics. Shane Black failed to portray him as the formidable foe of Iron Man he should have been. The trailers do a bait and switch. Nothing in the trailers that give the impression of the conflict between Mandarin leads to anything substantial between the two Why? because Shane Black decided to do the dumbest twist that would make M Night Shyamalan proud.

The Mandarin, a long time villain and foe of Tony Stark/Iron Man comes out of the toilet. In an English accent. Wow. Who wrote this crap? We changed the Mandarin from Asian guy from an English one. Genius Marvel!!

At this point, my whole interest in the film left me. Shane Black also makes the mistake of forgetting this is an IRON MAN film. Seriously this film should have been called TONY STARK. Tony Stark spends most of the film without it. Shane Black seemed to be almost embarrassed by it. Tony would get his armor and then lose it 5 minutes later. Get another set of armor and then lose it again. Even that great set piece with Air Force he wasn't even directly involved. We find out he was doing this remotely. This after finding out he was stuck in a small town somewhere with some kid because he the prototype armor he had on was damaged and needed it repaired. Why didn't he just send for another one!?? An unengaging plot that totally could have been so much better if the Mandarin was handled better and we got to see Iron Man be Iron Man

Yeah, so while not a terrible movie, not a good Iron Man film. I hope if there is another one, Shane Black is not involved or gives the writing duties to someone else. 6/10

For me, it's very hard to put the the Iron Man trilogy next to other trilogies like Spider-Man, X-Men, TDK trilogy, or even Blade. I don't think these three Iron Man movies work as a trilogy at all.

More like Iron Man 2, The Avengers, Iron Man 3

I don't think IM2 is anywhere near as good as IM3 in my eyes.. my MCU movies rating so far probably goes: 1a. IM3 1b. Avengers 2. Thor 3. TIH 4. IM2 5. Cap

For me;
IM1 (by a mile)
Avengers
Thor
IM2
Cap
IM3

Sometimes I think I'm the only one that really enjoyed Cap. More than IM2 and a whole lot more than IM3.

Avengers
IM1/Thor
Cap
IM2
TIH/IM3

To be fair the first time I watched Cap I missed the first 15mins (arrived late) but the heart and soul of the movie I missed so when the action kicked in I didn't care. On second viewing upon seeing the first 15mins I totally got the conflict but of course the damage had been done from the first viewing. So if I had arrived at the cinema when I should have I almost certainly would have enjoyed Cap more than I did. So my experience I blame on me not the film makers but it (the movie) is still 2nd from bottom.

does anyone know whether the public can submit official reviews to rotten tomatoes? two of the "top" australian critics gave it 3.5/5 starts and their review/s aren't up on the site.

Just finished watching it. Enjoyed it a lot, good fun. 7 out of 10 for me.

There's the Honest Trailer for Iron Man 2:

:funny:

Great review, my thoughts exactly.

Wait... you haven't seen the movie yet ?

Nope; I'm just a poor, dumb American who has to wait until Friday like the rest of my peoples, unlike you lucky enlightened buggers overseas who got to see it first and got to come here and spoil it for everyone else and tell us what to expect and what to think about it.

That's why I've held back on my criticisms of you guys' criticisms. Come Friday night, I'll know *exactly* what to look for to shoot down scene by scene, line by line, point by point just how far off the mark you were. :oldrazz:

To be honest though, you can make any movie seem idiotic by doing something like the Honest Trailers.

Wait, wait... So you went aggressively against everyone who disliked the movie by calling them delusional, haters hijacking the thread and whatnot, calling perfectly legitimate and well-structured criticism and genuine opinions "unsubstantiated ****", claim to have this movie figured out from miles away since months ago, you have formed an opinion already without even seeing the movie, yet you blame others for somehow forcing down their opinion on your or spoiling the movie, and somehow you'll "shoot down" people for "being wrong" about their thoughts on it and why they disliked it?...

Wow... Now THAT has to be the most arrogant and self-absorbed attitude I've seen from a poster around here.

I don't disagree.

Easier for some than others. lol

Well, I hope you enjoy it, I honestly do. But it's funny when you haven't seen the movie but you're one of it's most hardcore defenders.

Anyway, help me out here. People are praising Black for not going the safe route and deviating from the source material. But in reality, in the case of comic book movies sticking to the source is the more ballsy thing to do wouldn't you agree ? It's ballsy to have the Mandarin shoot lasers from magical alien rings, ballsy to put Fin Fang Foom on screen, ballsy to have the Mandarin be the Mandarin from the comics.

The Avengers succeeded because it had the balls to be a comic book movie. So what's with all the Black praising then ?

Come on, don't pretend you didn't like the Mandarin because it was different from the comics, you're even whining he wasn't Asian! There was plenty of Iron Man, you just hated the way they did it. The film has its flaws like most films do, but is still more interesting and entertaining than IM2 and most comic book movies.

what's the point of trying to change other people's opinions on a film? none, i feel.

i loved iron man 3. that's all that matters to me. i could defend this movie against those who say they hated it, but it just seems so pointless... like, what would i be trying to prove to myself? that i loved the movie and that my feelings are justified?

i know i loved the movie. others may feel the opposite. and that's fine by me :)

This hatred of IM2. Where is this coming from? The average moviegoer doesnt think like this. It was a popular movie and pretty well reviewed when it came out. People here talk about it like its Spider Man 3 or Episode I. Not saying its a great movie but its a entertaining one.

It's like you weren't even paying attention throughout the entire film.

Kinda hard to take you seriously at this point.

Minority? Even the people involved with the film have tried to distant themselves from it. You can't tell me film two is anywhere near film 3 or even film one for that matter, so yeah, the film 3 curse doesn't apply to this series because frankly there's was no curse to overcome.

i agree, IM2 was a good movie, i thoroughly enjoyed it. But topping it is not that hard of a task.
funny thing is after watching IM3, i only compared and drew comparisons to IM1 and completely forgot about IM2 until the credits started rolling.
so ya curse doesn't apply here since topping IM2 is easy.
for ex: Spiderman and Batman trilogy could be applied since the sequel was far superior to the first one.
