Comics Official NEW EXILES Discussion Thread

they should go to the 616 because dammit...i want Blink in the 616...or at least bring back the one that killed herself with her own powers...even tho the AoA Blink is MUCH cooler(looking)

Die by the sword was sort of an homage to Cockrum... weird, crazy homage, but homage nonetheless
How so? There wasn't a Cockrum-created character in there and Cockrum is most known for the second genesis X-Men and his work on the Legion of Superheroes.

Read the last page of the last issue Harlekin, Claremont is just insane this days I guess

Can you tell me what happens? I haven't actually read the series.

Did just read Exiles #100. Claremont's lost it.

You saw those weird guys that appeared to Betsy in 95, or 96? Well in the last page he revealed those two were Dave and Patty Cockrum. Really weird.

Wow. That's just... wow.

Awesome homage but really cracked out insane.

Just read that last page.

That was pretty awesome. I think it's really cool Claremont did that.

Yes very crazy indeed. Pity I deleted the comic after reading it or I'd post it ...

I wouldn't say crazy, actually. It's an incredible tribute.

whats the differnece between New Exiles and (old) Exiles

No Blink, TJ, Thunderbird, or anyone who made the book worthwhile and enjoyable...except for Morph. Claremont got tired of writing about other people's creations so he finally just booted out all the non-claremont created/wetdreamed characters and replaced them with Psylocke, Shadowcat, Rogue, and Sage....along with Mystiq(who dies/dissapears in the first issue supposedly) Sabretooth and Exile holdover, Morph...but Morph alone will not save this book from the cancellation it will soon have.

It isn't Claremont's fault. It's apparently editorial mandate that he only use characters he created.

Despite Claremont saying so?
Claremont said:
"The primary editorial dictum for the series is that the primary cast be restricted (with one exception, Morph) to variations on those characters I've created. Which isn't really that great a restriction since it turns out I'm responsible for quite a few over the past few years."

616 Blink is dead. Deal with it dude :p
presumed death. Her death was a bit amibious and I always thought she blinked herself somewhere adn got lost. I expected her to return in Gen X. Its not too much of a stretch for them to bring her back and it would make sense, considering how she went out

Despite Claremont saying so?

oh okay, I havent read that

I've always thought so too Havok, in my mind she's still Harvest in some godforsaken pocket dimension or something.

O_o Talk about dumb.

It's actually more intelligent than we're giving the editors credit for.

Tired of Claremont writing crap and destroying characters, but don't want to go through the fan-crap that would stem from getting rid of him? (Or, better yet, can't for wahtever reason?)

Stick him to using characters only he has created, and watch him no longer crap on characterization!

Hey, he wrote a terrific Bishop, and Bishop was not his creation...

Yes, it was editorial mandate.

But that doesn't change the fact that this will be the single most ridiculous book in Marvel history. I mean, how will Claremont possibly make every single character on the team as ROXOR!!!!!!!!11!!!!1!!11! as he'll want to?

I mean, Psylock, Shadowcat, Rogue, and Sage will be competing for panel time every single issue... Claremont will probably have them taking down every single uber-powered character in the Marvel Unvierses by the time the run's up... :whatever:

Glad I gave up on this a long while ago.
