Comics Official NEW MUTANTS Discussion Thread

im confused..karma is dani or is she mirage? those codenames were lame from jump
Karma is X'ian/Shan, the vietnamese with the possession powers. Dani Moonstar is the depowered native american. Mirage was her old codename back when she was in the original New Mutants but she's gone by Moonstar since the 90s. I dont know why they all of a sudden started callnig her Mirage again in the last issue

ahh i see. the only interesting thing about 'karma' then is that she is a lesbian and is trying to raise her younger siblings..who should now be able to end for themselves.

Warren is too conflicted right now...being a killer on the dl and all...wouldn't trust his leadership.

Dani is awesome...i have never really cared for Karma..but i don't want ANYONE dying..except Hope, Cable, Siryn, and Majik.

I know that, but he's paying for everything. He's, essentially, the most important X-Man right now. :woot:

Dani leading the X-Men would be cool, without a doubt. :yay:

After reading the latest issue, it looks like Wells implied that Dani was on Scott's radar for the next leader of the X-Men. I object!

Get used to it. Dani's been grooomed for the position by Xavier going way back to her original New Mutant days. Dont be surprised if Colossus is on a squad taking orders from her....hahaha

Oh yeah, it's the only good thing Emma ever did
Emma never did seem to care for Dani. When she kidnapped the New Mutants and made them all become Hellions, she didnt bother to take Dani.

Non-mutants can't lead the X-men!! sorry Dani...
That'd be like if a white guy gave the speech at the civil rights march instead of MLK

I dont think quite the same comparison can be made bc Dani was a mutant for all of her life up until M day. To me, it would be very similar to Storm leading in the 80s even though she was depowered

how did she get repowered- was it with Roma after Fall of the Mutants or when she became a mutate in X-Tinction Agenda?

The same way she lost them. Forge created a gun to give them back to her, just like one was created that took them away

:whatever: thats why i hate Forge. what kind of mutant power is "able to build any machine i can imagine"? why doesnt he just make a gun to repower every mutant lost on M-Day.

bc he's dead....lol. It was ridiculous that he made a gun to take her powers away but convenietly didnt think of making one to give them back till like 40 issues later. I hated how a convenient plot device he was at times

oh right...Ghost Box..... but yea ive always felt he was a ridiculous character (just goes to show even classic Claremont wasnt perfect). i even go out of my way to avoid him when i look for back issues. they may as well have just named him Deusex Machina.

Oh, god, these are a bunch of awful costumes...and the choice of color sucks as well...
Seriously, I think Emma should have a better taste. She dresses skimpy, that's for sure, but not exactly bad if one has the body to pull the clothes off, but these...

I think they're trying to reconnect w/ the original series as much as possible. They showed how tight Rusty and Robert were still from the first couple ish's.

Lol yea thoses Hellions fits arnt even 1980's bad, just bad. Luv it.
