helped me understand her. so how are Pixie and the Souldagger related to all this, and how does X-Infernus come into play?

In order to kill Belasco, Illyana needed a Soulsword and she did not have hers. She needed an innocent soul in order to create one and, Pixie just happened to be near her. Pixie agreed to let Illyana take hers and she tried to extract one from her. During that process, Anole stopped her before it was complete so thats why she got a dagger instead of a sword. The portion of Pixie's lost soul was contained in a bloodstone. Pixie killed Belasco by stabbing him with her Souldagger and Illyana reclaimed Limbo as its new ruler. She was about to turn the rest of Pixie's soul into bloodstones to gain more power but seeing Colossus caused her to stop and she teleported everyone back home.

In X-Infernus, Magik is in Limbo looking for her Soulsword and the original amulet which contained 3 of her bloodstones. We saw that Witchfire, Belasco's daughter had the amulet. When Pixie stabbed Nightcrawler with her Souldagger, Illyana's Soulsword emerged (how he got it is another story). Illyana sensed that and came for it. She fought the New X-men for it and wins. When she is reunited with her Soulsword, she is purged of her demonic appearance and once again looks human with the armor she had back in the 80s. She thought she was fine but when she saw Colossus, she attacked him bc she felt nothing for him. She realizes that its bc she needs her bloodstones to fully restore her soul. While she left Limbo, Witchfire took control of it and attacks Illyana when she returns. Cyclops sends a team of X-men to go into Limbo to retrieve Illyana

Witchfire defeats Magik and takes the bloodstone that she had from Pixie. She runs into Pixie, and decides to make her, her apprentice and extracts another bloodstone from her. With the amulet complete with 5 bloodstones (3 from Illyana and 2 from Pixie), she grows in power and uses that to summon the Elder Gods to aid her. Kurt managed to free Illyana and Pixie and the two use their blades to smash the Bloodstone amulet. This removes Pixie's newly extracted bloodstone, but 4 still remain and the castle started to crumble as it got sucked into the Elder Gods' dimension. Witchfire takes the amulet and disappears with it.

Pixie realized that a piece of her soul was now trapped in her Souldagger and runs off bc she lost another piece to Witchfire. Illyana realized that she may never get her soul back and almost left, but Colossus managed to get her to stay with the X-men. Thats where X-Infernus ended

Now when New Mutants begain, we saw Magik return from the future. In the latest issue, she revealed she spent years looking for her bloodstones and finally found Witchfire in the future. However she no longer had the bloodstones as she lost them to some travelers from Limbo. In this future the X-men were slaughtered by the arrival of the Elder Gods, who were presumably summoned from those that had the bloodstones. This also would mark the end of the world. So she returned to the present in NM #1 to prepare them for the arrival of the Elder Gods as she didnt know when the attack from the Limbo travellers would occur as the timeline had changed.

Im not sure how to simplify it anymore while keeping all the important details, but I'll try

Illyana was originally 5 yrs old when she went into Limbo. She spent 10 years in there and during that time, she gained her mutant powers, learned witchcraft and manifested her Soulsword. She emerged from Limbo, and only a few minutes had passed on Earth. She then joined the New Mutants.

Everytime she used her Soulsword, a piece of her soul would be lost, and she would manifest a small piece of armor. By the time, the Inferno story took place, she was fully corrupted and appeared demon like. She went to Limbo and while there, she saw her younger self, before she was corrupted. Only one of them could exist on Earth, so Illyana sacrified herself and sent the young child back. When that happened, she ceased to exist and what was left of her, dissipitated as residual energy throughout Limbo. Young Illyana, ended up dying of the Legacy Virus

Now during HoM, the Scarlet Witch's spell temporarily brought back teen Illyana and she interacted with the New X-men. This alarmed Belasco, a demon and ruler of Limbo, who was the one that kidnapped Illyana years earlier. He used magic to recreate her from that residual energy that was left in Limbo and we saw her evil and fully corrupted. The reason for this is bc she has no soul as it died when her younger self did. The Soulsword she yields, is a small portion of her soul, but its not fully resotred

Im not sure if this helps as I basically reiterated what I wrote before. If possible, Id recommend getting the Inferno TPB. That was the culmination of Magik's storyline and the best way to fully understand what happened with her and how it ties in with the character today

Believe or not u simplified it for me it makes sense just to clear it up. Time works different in Limbo so Grown up Demon Magick found her herself who was brought to Limbo saved her from being currupted and therefore destoryed herself?

lol...wow Im surprised I did, bc I almost started to confuse myself there. Yes time works different in Limbo, but Magik also has the ability to time travel. I think she teleported back to before she got corrupted. When she sent her younger self back to the present day on Earth, she essentially prevented herself from growing up and becoming the teen that joined the New Mutants and I guess you can say she destroyed herself. The New Mutants still remembered her though as her actions didnt erase their memories of her

I dont like Colossus as the sole character on the cover of a New Mjutants book. At least throw in one NM there with him

its gonna be someone with PMS. The cast from the very beginning has had alot of females. I see one of them going and I think the two most likely candidates are Magma or Karma. My vote goes to Karma. She always was lame

Ive read that there will be 3 deaths in Second Coming. One of them will be a NM. Watch it be something cheap though like Dani dying and being resurrected as a Valkryie. That I can go for

nah, not gonna be Dani, unless she is killed and resurrected as a valkyrie. The X editors mentioned that she's one that they got plans for this year. Im thinking she will the future leader of the X-men, that Cyclops will choose to replace him

i think thats something id like to see- Utopia fails, and Cyclops steps down as leader of the X-Men; maybe a leave of absence. if Beast didnt quit he probably wouldve made a good leader, or maybe Jean if/when she comes back.

Warren should be the leader. Or, he should at least have a say. He is paying for everything.

Warren is too conflicted right now...being a killer on the dl and all...wouldn't trust his leadership.

Dani is awesome...i have never really cared for Karma..but i don't want ANYONE dying..except Hope, Cable, Siryn, and Majik.

Karma is kinda boring. She doesnt have what it takes to be leader. I wouldnt mind if she died
