From the one flash I remember seeing, Pierce wasn't feeding info like that to Bastion, but the fact that Bastion was connected to all of Pierce's senses. He sees what Pierce sees, hears what he hears, and so on, so anything that gets near Pierce, and likely Bastion has manipulated the senses to super human levels so he could hear sense stuff all over Utopia, so he doesn't really need to get all over the place to be a good spy if the virus and Bastion's tech have made it like that so he's not looked at as a likely suspect by the X-Men since they would think that since he's locked up, he can't get the info through normal means.

The X-Men left their prisoners in the X-Center on the mainland. Pierce has no clue what's going on on Utopia.

Well, it was a while ago when I saw it, likely before Utopia, but I'm sure that at some point they relocated all the prisoners to Utopia as well, because I remember the Nation X story with Danger and Armor showed the brig being on the island, and I'm pretty sure she was implied to be on Utopia when Blink and the resurrected dead attacked the island in the start of Necrosha. Editing mistake or something that happened off panel that we were never told?

Anyway, it could also explain why Bastion decides to put his death dome over all of San Fran instead of just Utopia.

Specter is right. The prisoners are on Utopia. They are being kept in the X-brig and watched over by Danger. In Necrosha X #1, Bastion was able to see the Necroshan attack on the island, when the former members of the Hellfire Club attacked Pierce and Sebastion Shaw. It was then that he realized that their technology was compromised as Pierce sensed the TO on he resurrected mutants

Weird. I remember when the X-Men moved to Utopia, they brought Danger back to the brig at the X-Center and asked her to be the warden. But I guess they changed it. Whatever.

What makes you say that? I doubt Magik is dying. She's pretty integral to the New Mutants plot and the reason they were formed. She has that open plotline with the end of the world and those men from the future. Not to mention the bloodstones, limbo and Pixie's soul.

She may have gotten snatched away by a demon, but I'm sure it's nothing she can't deal with.

not saying casualty as in she dies..but casualty as in she and her powerset are taken out/removed from this battle at an early juncture.

casualty doesn't always mean death...just that someone has been taken down/out

Oh in that case its most definetly going to be Karma. Well not 100% confirmed but all signs are pointing to her not coming out of Second Coming unscathed. She's on the cover to Legacy 235 and about to be up against enemies which her powers have no effect on. She isnt even much of a fighter so she cant rely on hand to hand skills. If she doesnt die, then she's going to get crippled or disfigured in someway. Im almost positive of it.

the preview pages showed Karma using her powers on some purifers without any headgear, and Im guessing thats bc they werent prepared. The soldiers that the Alpha team fought had psychic protection which Psylocke couldnt breach. Once they are aware that Karma is in the facility, Im sure they will put on their anti-psych tech.

Why isnt Karma armed? Good question. She really should have stayed behind in the jet and helped them from a distance. She doesnt need to be up close to be useful. My guess is that the New Mutants will either be captured or forced to retreat in this issue, with Karma being left behind. I think Hodge will then torture her

Well, if Karma gets captured, I guess we can chalk one up for Sam's spectacular leadership abilities.

"Say, Dani. I know how you're imprisoned and everything, and there's an insanely powerful maniac who wants to kill you, but I want you to stay here in this jail cell like a sitting duck. You're much safer from the man trying to kill you if you're stuck in one place, I'm sure."

And now for part 2: "Say, Shan. You know how our enemy is a robot immune to psychic attack and Psylocke reports that her team encountered some telepathically shielded goons? Well, I want you to leave the safety of the jet and enter the fray with us."

So issue 12....rocked. The story flowed well and the art was magnificent. I really enjoyed this issue. Couple of thoughts:

leads his team into a situation where someone is going to get hurt.....and one of them does. He is about to tell Scott he is uncomforatble.....and promptly gets cut off. Nice. Come on Sam....

Illyana goes bye-bye. I am sure she will be back, nice way to eliminate her for a bit though.

Nice battle scenes with

Team Alpha and the purifiers. Angel rocks and Logan makes a great battle commander.

Kurt gets close

to Cable and Hope but Cable high tails it out of dodge. He suspects there is an insider working for Bastion. Now the question is who? Pierce or Danger might be the culprit.....

Rogue seems to

be able to tell what Hope is thinking....I am sure that will be key later on.

Overall this was an excellent issue to pick up...if its for just the art alone.

The art was amazing. I loved his take on all the characters. I love that we got to see some of the characters react to Warren transformation.

Im guessing the Magik subplot is the lead-in to Hellbound. hat should be interesting. Good that Scott had a plan in case she got taken out bc that would have been a huge loss for the Xmen

I'd like to revise my list of who I think the leak is:
-Dr. Rao (anti-mutant member of the X-Club)
-Donald Pierce (can communicate with Bastion)
-Cypher (had the T-O virus once, and may be inadvertently sending info to Bastion)
-Cable (same reason as Cypher)
-Danger (went from villain/antivillain to hero overnight, and might be working with her fellow robots to wipe out the students of her "father" Charles Xavier)

Looks like Cyclops' influence is fallen onto Cannonball. Sanctioning killing enemies and the NMs doing it? I miss the days when X-men didnt kill unless absoluetly necesarily, like self defense. Karma having that guy's head blasted off was a bit much, especially since she's the most peaceful, nonviolent of the bunch. Thats one thing that bothered me in this issue

Damn, that's gotta hurt. If only the X-Men had someone whose power was to heal wounds with a touch. But wherever will they find someone like that?


Seriously, I won't be surprised if Elixir bites it during this crossover. First they made him more powerful, and then they found a way to render him useless during every crossover.

they made him too powerful. When Prodigy was killed and Josh actually brought him back to life by growing him a new heart, I was worried about where they would take him from that. In most big stories, he tends to get knocked out or in a coma. Only good thing about this one is that it looks like he will be MIA. I sure hope so, bc I dont want him to die

Worst comes to worst, they could ignore all upgrades given to Elixir's powers. God knows everyone has conveniently forgotten that Warren can heal people.
