That's aggravating. I'd be all over that bundle, but sadly NoA controls my Nintendo purchasing fate.

Just talked to a guy at Nintendo about transferring data. Apparently you can transfer your licenses for eshop games without two 3DS's, but if you want to keep save data, you have to use their System Transfer tool using two 3DS's. Kinda aggravating, but good to know I can trade in my current XL for the NEW XL and still keep my games. I just have to start new ones.

Damnit Nintendo. I swear they only have NA the XL only option because they think, Americans especially, like big things like our hamburgers, pizza and Freedom.

I really would prefer the pocket friendly small version. Ah well.. I guess I'll trade down when it comes out eventually.. And I think it will. Eventually.

Actually, I'm pretty convinced it was an issue of distribution. Nintendo of America has shown itself to be incredibly incompetent in that department. They probably could secure enough of both, and ensure proper distribution for the face plates.

How do you do that without two? Most of my saves are on carts anyway.

Does this mean a price cut is coming for the standard 3DS? Because I would love to get it and FE: Awakening.

I think they already put the cut by like $30 or something like that.

You unlink your Nintendo Network ID from your current 3DS before trading it in. Once you get your new one, you put your Nintendo ID on the new one, then go into the eshop and redownload everything.

How do you unlink it? Do you have to call customer service?

Hm, curious. Wasn't aware you could do this. But I guess you'd lose all your save data that's present on the system, like saves for any game you downloaded from the eShop and Streetpass stuff?

Yeah exactly. The only way to retain saves is to do the system to system transfer. It's a bummer, but at least I can redownload my games. I'll just have to start new ones.

I would be okay with that, since I only have a few digital titles (most of which I don't play anymore anyway), but I would hate to lose all my Streetpass stuff. I've got a lot of puzzle pieces and several regions saved on my map.

Yeah losing the Streetpass stuff will be a bummer. I've collected a ton of that Find Mii crap.

Yeah I have so much Find Me crap that it isn't funny. Took forever to get that same Kirby hat, lol.

Is there a reason Nintendo makes it so hard to figure out what is the newest DS?

I really wish Nintendo would allow Twitch on the 3DS and the WiiU. Their stance is "we're working with Twitch but we don't view streaming as fun.."

Hopefully they change their tune.

Went to Best Buy tonight.. They said they won't start preorders till next week. Anyone know how much Best Buy normally charges for preorders? First I've done anything like that there.

Gamestop is $50, so I'd expect it'd be about the same.

Yeah I was thinking that it would be about the same.. Friend of mine said they only charge like 15 down.

He has that 100 dollar gamers club though, so who knows.

Gunman Clive 2 is coming Jan. 29th. The first game was really fun for the price.

Yeah, I liked the first one a lot. Really cool art style. Short game, but really fun.

Posted this in the Lounge, but in case you don't follow it, a lot of 3DS games are discounted on Wal-Mart's website (including a lot of other pre-orders). People are thinking these are some pricing errors, but I can confirm that the Pokemon games will go through: I ordered Alpha Sapphire for this price for store pickup, and I just got my text to say it's ready.

3ds120.gif

Fire Emblem: Awakening $27.41
Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate (Preorder) $27.36
Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth: Wild Cards Premium Edition $54.09
Pokemon Alpha Sapphire $26.85
Pokemon Omega Ruby $26.85
The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds $27.41

All of these besides MH4 is out now, so they should all go through. Solid prices for Nintendo games.
