I got one. The New 3DS XL. And wowzer, after playing some Monster Hunter 4, 3D gaming is a blast when it works right. So is there a thread to post my friend code?

You can just post it here. I don't really pay any MP games on my 3DS. I basically stick to single player for the most part. I do on my Wii U, though.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3D – 25 Minutes Of Cam Footage Show How The Game Runs. March 9, 2015 . 5:27pm

View25 minutes of camera footage from the game.

If you still haven’t seen enough of Xenoblade Chronicles 3D, you can now view 25 minutes of camera footage from the game. It obviously isn’t as pleasant to watch as direct feed footage would be, but it does give one a fairly good idea of how the game looks and runs (very well, by the looks of it).

Xenoblade Chronicles 3D will be released this April for the New Nintendo 3DS.

So I just bought a New 3DS XL [BLACKOUT]and a PS4, cause petty bragging and all that[/BLACKOUT] and why didn't anyone tell me how much of a &^%(* it is to unscrew the back? The screws don't come out, they just loosen. I walked 40 minutes total to a Wal-Mart to get a "better" screwdriver because I thought that would make a difference, then I thought this was just a faulty back, so I was angrily prepared to get a refund/fight-with-Gamestop ready for tomorrow...but, I got it open. Cause the screws don't actually come up or out, they click and loosen.

Like, seriously Nintendo, even the little things you choose to do are annoying as ass!

Yeah, the back on the New 3DS was a pain, but luckily I only gotta do that once. Put a 16gb microSD in and I don't download very big games. VC stuff is tiny

Ugh! It's just, Nintendo choices lately. Amiibo rarities, the Majora Mask system, the even the flipping back of their 3DS now.

They've definitely been ****ting the bed on a lot of stuff.

OH! And I just tried to register the New 3DS on Club Nintendo for some final coins...YOU CAN'T...I mean...REALLY?! Am I just nitpicking now?! Cause, seriously? UGH Not a smiley I can find to burnthrough!!!11:cmad::argh::down

Aggh...on a HAPPY THOUGHT, that Codename STEAM, tho...can't wait for it. It'll be my official 1st new game for this N3DS. Tried SSB3D and it felt...weird. The C-stick really didn't make any difference. I'm just too used to playing it on the older 3DS.

Club Nintendo is done. Haven't been able to register any new product

Seriously? Its still there and I just did a post game survey for Bravely Default. I'm sure you can still register stuff (just not the New 3DS apparently) cause I just got some coins for a survey.

Sin & Punishment Isn’t On Nintendo 3DS, But Iron Combat Might Help Fill That Gap. March 12, 2015 . 11:00am

Don’t let the terrible title fool you—this actually looks interesting.

[YT]fNTjtLzGwwk[/YT]

Remember Phosphorescent Lanze? Probably not. That’s okay—the last time we heard about it was in 2013 when it was released on the Nintendo eShop for 3DS in Japan. That same year, developer AMZY said to Siliconera that they didn’t have any plans to localize the game at the time, but as of this morning, a localization has been confirmed, which is great because the game has always looked very interesting.

Teyon will be publishing Phosphorescent Lanze in North America and Europe under the title Iron Combat: War in the Air. As the extremely descriptive title suggests, this is an air combat game—one where you play as a female mecha that can transform between mech and aircraft forms. Victories will earn you credits that you can spend on new weapons and upgrades for your mech. There’s a story in there, too.

In aircraft form, your mech will move at high speeds, which is helpful when covering large distances. You can also fire lock-on missiles that can hit multiple targets. The downside of this form is that you have a wide turning radius and targeting enemies requires some work. Meanwhile, the mech form makes it easier to target enemies, but isn’t suited for travelling long distances or engaging multiple enemies at once.

Iron Combat will be released on March 19th in North America for $6.99. A European release of the game will follow “soon”.

The shut down of Club Nintendo has been known for several months now. Anything released after January 25th, I believe, will not give coins.

Apparently Capcom is doing a Monster Hunter 4 event tour thing. The first stop is at the Gamestop less than a mile down the road from me. My girlfriend also ran out and bought me Monster Hunter 4. Haven't played it yet, but I'm excited in trying out that world. Any of you guys pick it up?

So are they still doing one more platinum rewards, or were these games for your coins it?

Still holding out for the Silver Mario amiibo being the platinum reward, but I highly doubt that'll happen.

If they release the Wario, DK, and Rosaline amiibos that are featured in MP10 that we've seen, I'm guessing they'll probably release it with that wave of the Super Mario line (and maybe other MP10 characters?). It would make sense. Two special variant amiibos for two waves that only two people can get probably.

IndustryFebruary 2015 NPD: 3DS family leads hardware

Published 7 hours ago. 9 comments.

New 3DS XL the top-selling hardware, PS4 takes home consoles.

NPD-Results-Feb-2015.jpg

U.S. video game sales results for the month of February 2015 are in.
General
Consumers spent $955.6 million on new games, hardware, and accessories in February, up eight percent from the amount spent over the same period in 2014.
Hardware sales generated $378.2 million, a 10 percent increase from the same period in 2014. PlayStation 4 was a major contributor to that increase, as well as the New 3DS XL.
“Home console hardware declined 5 percent as gains in eighth-generation console sales could not offset the 41 percent loss in dollar sales of seventh generation hardware,” NPD analyst Liam Callahan said.
Software sales generated $378.2 million, which is up seven percent from the $338.9 million spent on games during the same period in 2014.
Top ranking standalone software for the month include:

  1. The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D (3DS)
  2. Evolve (Xbox One, PS4, PC)
  3. Dying Light (PS4, Xbox One, PC)
  4. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare (Xbox One, PS4, 360, PS3, PC)
  5. Grand Theft Auto V (PS4, Xbox One, 360, PS3)
  6. NBA 2K15 (PS4, Xbox One, PS3, 360)
  7. Dragon Ball: Xenoverse (PS4, Xbox One, PS3, 360)
  8. Minecraft (360, PS3, Xbox One, PS4)
  9. The Order: 1886 (PS4)
  10. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate (3DS)
Sony Computer Entertainment
PlayStation 4 was the top-selling home console in February, Sony announced.
“Demand for PlayStation 4 remains incredibly strong in the U.S. as it was No. 1 in hardware and software sales in February, according to the latest NPD report,” a Sony spokesperson said in a statement. “PS4 remains the cumulative leader in hardware sales with more than 20.2 million units sold to consumers worldwide demonstrating the fastest growth in PlayStation hardware history.”
Microsoft
Xbox One sales were up 84 percent in February compared to January, to which we can deduce about 276,000 units were sold.
“Xbox One’s fan base continues to grow with record February sales in the U.S. for Xbox One and 84 percent more consoles sold compared to January 2015,” said Mike Nichols, Corporate Vice President of Xbox Marketing at Microsoft.
“In February 2015, fans spent an average of 74 hours on Xbox Live in the U.S. – three times the amount of hours the average user spends on social networks*. And, Xbox Live set new records, quadrupling global gaming hours on Xbox One and Xbox 360 in February 2015 compared to February 2014. We are grateful to our fans for choosing to play on Xbox One. Offerings and experiences will continue to expand with Xbox One and Halo: The Master Chief Collection available together for $349, new games launching this month including ScreamRide and Ori and the Blind Forest, hundreds of new ID@Xbox games in development, and plans to make gaming even better on Windows 10 and Xbox.”
Nintendo
3DS was the top-selling hardware platform in February, thanks largely to the launches of New 3DS XL, The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D, and Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate on February 13.
The 3DS family sold nearly 395,000 units in the U.S., the majority of which were New 3DS XL units, which sold 130 percent more in its initial frame than 3DS XL did when it launched in 2012.
The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D was the top-selling title for the month with more than 515,000 combined physical and digital units sold. The game is now the fastest-selling Legend of Zelda hand-held title in U.S. history.
Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate sold more than 290,000 combined physical and digital units and is now the fastest-selling Monster Hunter title, across all platforms, in U.S. history. It is also Capcom’s fastest-selling 3DS title in U.S. history.
3DS hardware sales have increased by more than 90 percent over sales during the same period in 2014.
Wii U also had a strong month. Sales for the platform have increased by more than 20 percent over sales during the same period in 2014.
Additionally, life-to-date sales of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and amiibo have surpassed 1.5 million total units and 3.5 million figures, respectively, with an attach rate of nearly 2.5 amiibo figures per game unit sold.
Thanks, Venturebeat, NeoGAF.
