I saw the movie yesturday on the IMAX. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm not sold on Brandon Routh. Don't get me wrong, he looks great as Superman/Clark kent, but it felt as if Singer realized this kid can't act and decided to cut out most of his dialouge.
I can't say enough about the perfect casting. Big props to Frank Langella who does an excellent job as Perry White. Kevin Spacey was excellent like i knew he would be, and also had nice rhythm with Parker Posey.
The airplane resuce is absolutely insane! I felt like i needed a smoke after watching it.. and i don't even smoke.
While it isn't quite as good as Batman Begins imo, Superman Returns is a very VERY fun movie and entertaining superhero movie. I can't wait for the sequel. Hopefully it will be a tad darker.

at what Imax? From what I understand, most of them are not getting the film till, well, today? And it takes a couple days to set it up?

Ok guys heres my review of Superman Returns. This will be short sweet and to the point. No spoilers im afraid though after nine pages of this i doubt you would need any.

Let me just start by saying that this movie is now my favorite movie of all time. Yes. You did read that right.

The movie was a spectacular specimen to behold. I felt like i had been sitting in the theater on 30 minutes or so and then it was over.

Routh, Spacey, Bosworth? All excellent I had no trouble supsending my beliefe. Routh is Superman. You dont see Clark much but he does a fantastic job at him as well.

Spacey: He is the Lex Luthor for this generation. Evil, intelligent, INSANE. Nuff said.

Bosworth: Lets just put it like this. This chicks so good in this movie you will have no trouble believing she is Lois Lane.

Support cast? Lebeau as Jason is spectacular. Marsden: All i can say is wow, this man can actually act. Its such a shame after what they did to him on xmen. He could have made that film.

All the rest were wonderful. Hunnington, in a word the best Jimmy to date.

I dont want to take up too much of ur time so I wont. Lets put it like this.

You will be cheating yourself out of something very special if you dont see this flick.

ITs gut wrenching, heart warming, action packed, and the cg is down right awesome. I wish i could put my words more eloquently for you guys. IM sorry I cannot.

All i know is if this movie was this good on a little military theater screen, i cant wait to see it in IMAX 3D on Tuesday. If you have any questions please ask I will do my best to answer them.

Superman has returned, and I can safely say that he is here to stay.

Oh one more thing. The nod at the end of the movie to donner was spectacular. I had tears of joy. And did i clap oh yes I did and all 499 people followed suit right behind me.

Semper Fi

I don't know about Routh. I felt that he lakced the charisma Reeves brought to the character.

bernardinells 3/12 out of 4 stars is very encouraging;hes a great critic

Im sorry we will have to agree to disagree. No one, and i mean no one can replace reeve. But To me he was so good i didnt think about reeve the whole time till the dedication at the end.

We should really close this in a few days and do this poll over again come opening day.

It got somewhat tainted by a bunch of posters who havent even seen it.

And someday, we'll be saying no one will be able to replace Brandon Routh either.

Question to any of you short bus passengers who voted in the poll and have not seen the film...

are you completly oblivious to the fact we can see your names after you voted?
they probably didnt know that when they clicked the mouse ;)
*page reloads* OOPS TOO LATE! :p

Too late now Excel. I'd rather restart this poll on Saturday, that gives alot of us ample time to SEE it and reflect upon it.

It will get more educated votes then overall.

Or just close this poll. It's sad that even though it mentions who voted on what, some pro and con idiots who havn't seen it still hit the button.

Dvildog, great summery of the film, all the recommendation anyone need to hear is that "Your missing something special bit"!

No, dont close the thread just to restart it when this ones already 200+posts; we can last another day and a half. the films only 50 hours away.

if posters cant take enogh responsibility for their actions and just wait till they see it to vote thats their problem.shouldnt hav ot make the posters who have seen the movie revote and doa new review just because some people voted early. when this is done itll have north of 300+ votes, and a few early ones, that likely would be what they would have voted anyways, wont hurt much.

I'd rather close it and restart it, since all the people who legitimately posted (and theres a few that did)...

would likely post their grades again for a second time.

guys i can repost its just a simple matter of copying and pasting. just let me know. before you close the thread so I can do that. Either way it doesnt matter to me.

What happens to Richard at the end? Does he learn that the child is Superman's? Does he stay with Lois?

they dont say and they dont show at the end. I think he does though there are clues during the the superman rescue scene and going to the hosptial. Maybe i read too much end it to it. as yes him and lois are still together at the end.
