I really am saddened at so much of the stuff I have been reading in here and all over the Hype lately.

/more fanwank

Thor was holding back; he wasn't trying to kill Stark during their fight. Also he peeled off the faceplate like a wet decal at the end of Avengers.

I don't really understand why having a "/" means in threads I see it all over and it just looks like a misplaced keystroke.

Not as bad the 'Organics suck' thread. So life on Hype is improving.

You mean like the 'SM3 is rubbish' was shoved down the throats of Spidey fans. C'mon, it's what fans do. When you're on top you gloat when you're not on top you take the insults. This has always been the way of things.

What do you mean, "not on top"? Iron Man Three is on top. The film is an unqualified success. The fact that a few people are passionately dedicated to bashing it doesn't take away from its utter dominance at the domestic and international box office.

I saw Iron Man 3 at 810pm ET on Monday night 05/06/2013...

IM3 is definitely better than IM2.

1, 3, 2 is how I would rank them, which is interesting for a trilogy since it's good for a trilogy to end on a high note. However, what other trilogies can say they have a great beginning and end but a mediocre middle? Is this the first? Star Wars (Empire Strikes Back), TDK trilogy (The Dark Knight), Matrix (Matrix Reloaded), Godfather (Godfather Part II)... I can't think of a trilogy where the middle film is expressed as the worst in the trilogy... the trilogies I just mentioned would not be said to have poor middle films...

I loved everything about the movie. It was fun, exciting, very funny. I loved the tone, characters, dialogue. So here's what I didn't like:

SPOILERS!!!

1. Adrian Killian breathing fire... that was **uncalled for**. And even though it was followed up by a funny joke by Rhodey, it was still just lame.
2. The only "amazing feat" Iron Man does that took me out of the film and made me think "oh give me a break" is when Tony summons his armor at the end (when he is being held captive by the two goofy goons)... and the armor flies from Tennessee to Miami, Florida in about 30 seconds. LOL. Are you kidding me???? Yeah, his armor must fly at light speed!!!! Tony does a lot of amazing things with his technology but I found that ridiculous.
3. While I thought the score for IM3 was the best in the trilogy, I was disappointed by the lack of AC/DC. The scores for IM have never been particularly strong, so I always felt AC/DC was Iron Man's official theme music. The Avengers movie made this clear when Iron Man shows up in action for the first time against Loki and they play AC/DC music again... but alas, no AC/DC in Iron Man 3. Oh well...

Most of all...

4. The villains. Anybody else tired of "super soldiers"??? Marvel needs to stop relying on this for their films. What exactly were Killian's long-term goals? I never felt it was clear at all what he wanted to do... like-wise, the use of super soldiers/enhanced human beings is being used too much.

I can totally understand why comicfans would be annoyed by what they did to the Mandarian (Ben Kingsley)... he really didn't have much of a role... he was in a few "home video" movies broadcasted on the news and then Tony meets up with him and finds out the truth... I have never been an Iron Man comic reader, so what they did with the character didn't bother me; what bothered me was the twist made a lot of the tension in the film disappear because the "big bad villain" was revealed to be a dud, and all Tony is left to fight is a bunch of generic super soldiers...

Overall, the Iron Man trilogy is a very very good trilogy. I would go so far to say it equals the Dark Knight trilogy (where I would rank the films as 2, 1, 3 in order of greatness)... but one thing I would definitely say the TDK trilogy tops the IM trilogy with is the area of villains. I don't think the IM trilogy ever had a memorable villain. They missed out with the Mandarian.

Also, can anybody clear this up for me?

Plot hole.

The Mandarian (Trevor) thinks he's just acting a role and doesn't realize he hurt any people... so did he shoot the political figure or not??? I'm talking about the guy he held a gun to and demanded the President call him in order to save his life... but then he shot him any ways.

Trevor said he didn't hurt anybody and didn't realize what was going on...

so did he kill that Senator guy or what?

Indiana Jones for sure. I would say Back to the Future as well, but fans are pretty divided on whether II or III is better.

BTTF II is much better than III

No way. The Wild West stuff with Marty and Doc's role reversals is far more engaging than the silly Alternate Timeline plot of II.

However, like I said, I know you are not alone.

i always thought the general consensus was that 1)i agree, most sequels are better than the third installment, but also 2) since when was Matrix Reloaded better than the first? I thought it was common knowledge the movies kept getting worse after the first? lol

Are you referring to the negative remarks to IM3?

I'm referring to a lot of different things in here and around the site.

But primarily it's that too many on here seem to find that rudeness and uncivil actions are not only acceptable but mandatory.

etc etc.

you can see that most of the armours are similar to others. the only drastic changes seem to be the one's with the large reactors, the one's with the drill arms, the one's with the claw arms and the space, heavy lifting and skeleton suit.

it is likely tony only needed to adjust a few specs in his computer to make majority of his new suits. he went way over the top in the end due to his obsession and anxiety etc, but in the end it paid off lol.

That Gamma suit is interesting. It's green and it's called Gamma, so there may be at least a wink and a nod towards Bruce Banner; but I'm thinking it looks a lot like Kevin O'Brien's Guardian armor.

The Back to the Future films are probably the only ones where I can't, I just can't, select a favorite/or the best one. Each one of those film have enough good stuff to be picked. It's my favorite pack of films in history. They have everything I could possibly want in a movie.

That's it, right there. The haters seem to think that if they post their hate a million times they'll convince other people to hate the movie by simply shoving their opinions down people's throats.

No, that's what YOU seem to think and the fact that you're saying it so harsh and even feel that way in the first place means you're not willing to accept negative opinions on this movie, like somehow it's threatening its greatness factor.

Seriously? I haven't seen any "hater" try to convince others that the movie sucked. They just say what they didnt like about the movie. I have seen fans who liked the movie claim others "don't get it". Which is insulting.

QFT. Great post. If anything, people who liked the film are more aggressive and negative towards the ones that didn't. We're being called haters for not liking it all the time, but I don't think I've seen any "hater" to resort to name calling and similar insulting accusations. Whenever someone makes a valid criticism, most of the comebacks are "You don't get it" or "You're a fanboy" or some ******** like that.

On the site that will not be named many posters who disliked the movie can be seen posting multiple times in the same comment thread....on multiple articles...same with IMDB forums

I think people take this stuff WAY too seriously. They act like someone just dropped their baby.

I like comics, but I also understand that the movies are a seperate continuity all together...only influence by MANY versions of the comic characters.

I thought what they did with the Mandarin was well thought out, enjoyable and made Guy Pierces character even more devious.

But that's just me.
