Saw it yesterday and I like it. The humor is great, the action is awesome. Didn't saw the twist coming, but it was hilarious, good idea.

A solid 8 out of 10. Will see it tomorrow again.

How is IM3 considered "fresh" on RT? The movie was barely better than IM2 and that is not saying much.

The movie was a cheesy mess of a film.

I actually rank the film right next Green Lantern. Not good at all.

It's funny when critics say a film is "entertaining" that usually means the film is not very good but they got paid extra money to say nice things about the film and promote it.

The massive ratings drop is a bit of a hint of how bad IM3 was as film overall.

RDJ witty one liner are just tiresome and it wasn't enough to save the over the top film IMO.

New here. This is my first post. I saw IM3 on May 2 at 10pm.

I thought the movie was mediocre. They fact that they took War Machine/Iron Patriot and turned him into basically nothing was pretty bad. Iron Patriot has that badass cannon that didn't get used once? I don't even remember him firing a single weapon. The fact that they took Iron Man and turned him and is new suit into a joke was equally as bad. They turned the movie into a giant comedy with all the jokes. IMO it was a little too much.

The Mandarin. Well they took one of Ironmans biggest villains and turned him into a British alcoholic. While I did enjoy the ride and thought it was funny it just left a little bad taste in my mouth.

Don't even get me started in the suits. I was EXTREMELY excited to see these suits. They were so hyped up in the commercials. And we see what, little glimpses of the suits here and there and then all of them get destroyed? How depressing. I would have enjoyed seeing maybe a few more suit with way more screen time. Would have loved to see some of the suits doing their specialty.

Then we get the clean slate protocol. Tony states that there is such grave and imminent danger yet he destroyed every single suit? Ummmm. At the end he removes the shrapnel and his arc and the credits recapping all three movies kind of sealed up the series. Yes it says Tony will return. I know. But how? I'm sure he can build more suits but idk. I don't like how it ended.

Overall it was better than 2 but not as good as 1. The movie as a movie was OK and I would watch it again.

Ah, and finally we get the ******** batfan troll. I was wondering how long it would take.

I'll pretend that your post was sincere.

It's fresh because anything over 60% on RT is certified fresh.

As far as "massive ratings drop", the film is currently at 79% and has actually been going back up.

9/10..my favorite movie of the series.

I loved the twist and appreciate the message Black was trying to put out there. There are a few umm..factions on SHH that constantly berate Marvel Studios for making 'formulaic' movies. Well this one was anything but imo, and i'm glad they messed with standard superhero movie cliches and tropes. It was a ton of fun to watch and the audience loved the hell out of the movie.

I'm really excited for Phase II

Finally got to see it and I certainly liked it. It managed to keep my interest and surprise me at times, despite that I had the movie spoiled by many people here. I liked how it fit into the overall MCU story, RDJ delivers as usual as Tony, his "cocoon arc" suited the third film well and the action was varied and entertaining. It's hard to judge it compared to the other MCU films right now though, seeing how this is so fresh and I've seen the others many times.

Then why did you even bother to go see it? Sounds like your mind was already made up before you bought the ticket.

But he only said that line to Hammer.

You are right. But I suppose he still learned from Vanko's attack on the Stark Expo. The drone army perhaps gave him ideas for his own force of remote controlled Iron Man suits.

Maybe because he wanted to see it. I agree with everything he said just because you don't agree with him doesn't mean have to attack him. Some people hated this movie, get over it

How dare you speak ill of Iron Man 3, I banish you from these boards :oldrazz:

8.5/10

Fun film, good overall, but that twist was unnecessary.

Saw the film for a third and final time before home video this afternoon.

I'm back more on the positive side, with reservations.

Ultimately, this film is all thematics and subtext, plain and simple. For me, what ultimately hurts it is the comedy, considering the placement of the comedy undercuts the stakes of the film and the characters at certain moments, the lack of a presence of SHIELD, and the twist (which doesn't need to be discussed any further but the subtext of the twist is the most interesting aspect of it.)

I'm not asking for Cap and higher ups of SHIELD to take over the film, ala Iron Man 2. What I am asking for is at least a small presence within the film of SHIELD investigating in the same way that Stark is doing in the second act of the film.

Considering the national security situation of the plot and the fact that one of the AVENGERS is seemingly dead, I would think that Fury could spare some SHIELD agents to investigate the matter and launch some type of investigation of their own.

Still, this is a nice send off for RDJ when it pertains to the Iron Man franchise. I just wish, like the first film, it'd take itself a little more seriously, considering that when it does, the film flies.

Got a chance to see it again yesterday. Originally gave it an 8.5, but the second viewing moves that up to a 9 and tied it with (maybe surpassed) IM1. Felt the pacing was amazing and action fantastic. Went with another comic fan and he thought it was fantastic. The wife got to see it and said, "Hands down the best IM movie."

I'm not going to say I'm surprised that there are those who didn't like the film. Comic book to film transitions can cause some people to become volatile if the character they love is mistreated. I can dig that, especially when I ran, accidentally, into some rumors about Man of Steel that scare the mess out of me. What is getting on my nerves is the fact that some on the boards sound like they're trying to convince the ones who liked it or loved it that they really hated it. If my second viewing is any indication, I have a feeling that when I'm watching this two years from now in preparation for Avengers 2, I am still going to love it.

Just curious where you saw the film seeing that you're in Durham. I'm down the road at Southpoint Cinemas and saw the 9pm on Thursday and yesterday's 3:15.

I go back and forth between Brier Creek and Southpoint. Usually Southpoint on Tuesdays because it's 5 dollars all day there. But, Brier Creek is my main point because it's only 3 miles from my house.

Cool, just had to ask because it would have been crazy if we were watching it at the same theater or something.

$5 Tuesdays are amazing.

And the majority of people loved Iron Man Three. The haters need to get over that, instead of haunting the IM3 forum to post their opinions repeatedly as some have been doing. You hate it, we get it already. No need to go on about it forever.

If he didn't like it fine. Complainig that it has a fresh rating on RT and saying that critics are getting paid to say nice things about it, is trolling.

People can express their opinions without having to say ridiculous things like that.

I can understand people not liking the film. It took a lot of chances which was sure to provoke dislike. But that poster also stated "RDJ's witty one liners are tiresome"? Dude...have you...been watching the same movies as the rest of us? That is one of the main reasons we love these Iron Man movies and RDJ as Tony Stark. It is difficult to imagine him being replaced.

aw man.. you guys still have $5 days?? :( they used to do that at the theater like 5 minutes from me called Ridge Park Square on Wednesdays and you would get a free small popcorn! It was awesome but they stopped it years ago haha.

Anybody here see it in IMAX? My friend picked up some tickets for an IMAX screening of it for next saturday. Was the IMAX experience pretty good?

Yes because DK has always been a completely fair and unbiased poster who has never ever ever visited Marvel threads to just drop a turd and leave before.

He didn't like it? Fine, but don't act like he's some innocent bystander getting picked on 'just because'. That guy has been moderated for trolling and threadcrapping and instigating this DC vs Marvel nonsense many, many times, and you shouldn't be surprised when people remember it and react negatively to it. You shouldn't develop a rep as a troll if you want people to take your opinions seriously.

He didnt like the movie which is fine. But then he make the conclusion they critics must have been paid off in order to keep the ratings fresh. I'm sure he uses that same logic when the critics agree with a movie he likes.
