Great reviews, guys. I really enjoyed reading them.

I was a little surprised at yours, Naite. I thought you would have given it a higher rating. Nice to see you were being totally honest

Take it from a fan - The movie kicks ass! Spider-man 1 is still the best, but this is soooo much better than the 2nd.

I don't know about you guys, but I like the reviews from here the best. Screw rotten tomatoes, it's the FANS that count and if the fans are liking it/loving it thus far- that's GREAT news in my opinion.

Thanks for all of the reviews, guys....

Minus 6 hours and counting...

yep. as long as the general public loves Spiderman the franchise will live on. i've seen the movie and i'll say it's AWESOME, eventhough it isnt perfect. the movie would have been better if there wasnt too much sub-plots squeezed in, shortening the characters' development which is the most essential part of a story. but over-all i'll give it a 9. thumbs up to raimi for a job well done. and oh also to stan lee for a nice cameo. :yay:

I'm getting so hyper!

Only a few more hours ... Only a few more hours ... *rocks back and forth*

I like this thread better than the critics cause like Tempest said i'm a fan and a bunch of fans in this thread loved it so tom. i will too...for sure.

imdb has ALWAYS been like that. It's "Internet Meeting Dumb Bastards" forums.

Over there, it's funny- everyone hates everyone and everyone hates everything... or at least it seems like that.

I'm a fan and didn't like it that much. As many others here.

its best if we ignore the negative reviews of some critics. what matters is the fans' points of view and not theirs. and besides their reviews aren't that reliable. better watch the movie and see for yourself. :yay:

Just back from from the film.

I loved this movie. I really did. But there were some things that just bugged me.

The final swing - WHERE?! I know it's not such a big deal, but I really missed it. It always brought such closure to the movies.

Venom - Not enough. When he was there, he was great. But there just wasn't ENOUGH of him. I also loved the fact that the symbiote still exists, leaving the door open for Carnage.

Sandman - I wanted some more of his personal story. Everything else was great.

The Daily Bugle - MORE HOFFMAN!

Symbiote Sipder-Man - Came in too late, went out too early. Could've used more.

Deleted Scenes - Check the thread on this. They all should've been left in.

All of these things are a bit minor, but took away from a perfect score. The movie WORKED for me. I loved it, probably even more than the average movie-goer because I'm a FAN.

To those who loved the first two Spidey films: you'll love this one, too.

9/10

I just came from the theater, i just saw Spider-Man 3 and the only thing i can say is.......

I´m extremely disappointed :csad:

Let me tell you , i liked the movie, i did, it´s a cool action movie, but it´s all that there is to it, and it deserves a hell lot more.
When the movie is good, it´s good; but when it is bad, it´s ridiculous, pathetic, moronic....
What was Raimi smoking when he made Peter dance in the street like some stupid f**k?
What was the drinking when he made Peter dance in the bar like Fred *fu**ing* Astaire?
What was he injecting when he put Gwen Stacy and George Stacy in the movie?
There is no need for them to be there.
Why make Spider-Man 3 into a "don´t do drugs" kind of crap?
Because, unless your blind, the black suit is no more than Spider-Man on drugs.
He even gives the "no drugs" speech to Eddie when he says something like "i know what it feels like when you put the suit on, but then it doesn´t let go."
The scene with the crane is just stupid, Spidey just goes in there to save Gwen, because the moment he does that, he turns around and goes home.
For a big fan of Spider-Man, Raimi has a hard time in understanding that having a Spider-Man´day is just stupid, to have people sheering and clapping is ridiculous, to have Spider-Man be seen as something of a Superman is moronic.
I understand that, to have Spider-Man "fall from grace" they had to put him at the top, but, for the love of God, let´s not butcher the character to make your point across.
Why the hell did Spidey kissed Gwen?
It was just and only to make dramatic tension, which just show how bad and convoluted the script is, there is to much going on, even for a 2h30m movie, and nothing is properly handled.
No matter how cool Venom is, he is only there to please the fans, which is a bad reason to include him.
Note to the not so bright, Sandman doesn´t fly!
It would make sense if it was a windy day, and one time would be enough, but the man has the strange power of controlling the wind...
All in all, i give it a 7

Kudos to the comedy bits, they are hilarious, specially Jameson and the pills and the Bruce Campbell one  :woot:
And, before i forget, there is only a great scene in the movie, but one that deserves to be mentioned, when Marko gets control of his powers.
It´s so good it doesn´t even look to be directed by Raimi (let´s face it, Raimi is capable, but he is not the best director out there, not even close).
The music, the close up to the sand merging, Marko trying but falling at first to get a solid form, one word, amazing.

Yeah....people love to rip each other apart over there. Now they're saying that there are studio plants giving the film good reviews.

yeah a part of the symbiote is left inside dr connor's lab. and we aren't sure if the bomb completely destroyed it. so there's a big chance that the symbiote is still out there.

Embarassingly bad. Blech!

It's incredibly bad. Really. Raimi dropped it totally.

Spiderman is barely in the movie!

Everybody turns into a crying baby and Peter finally gets totally Emo. And if you cry because of Superman returns' soap opera ingredient, wait and watch this one!

God, they even re-cycled LOTS - I mean LOTS - of the previous movies' CGI!!!! And made it so evident.

Terrible movie. Painfully unfunny and boring.

Thanks for the review guys! So would you all say it's better or worse than the first two?
I think it is its own film... However, if pressed, I'd say that S2 is probably a tighter, better made film overall.

In spite of the cheesy moments, I believe Raimi did a decent job balancing all the different threads together without everything unravelling. At least the end didn't feel rushed like it did in X3...

what do you mean spidey is barely in the movie??? geez this is a spiderman movie for god's sake. or weren't you satisfied with spidey's screentime? lol either way you gotta be wrong man Spidey is seen through out the movie.

He barely is in. There's a lot more action in S-m2, who cares what the name of the movie is if he barely can keep the mask on and do his stuff.

Well the reason for the mask being off a lot is because it's important to get an actor's facial expressions and see the emotion on his face. That's the problem with a character who wears a mask, because for me personally, I like to see his face when he's getting his ass beat. Rather than seeing a guy who doesn't look like he's in any pain or suffering. The only time I really seen a masked character work well was V For Vendetta, but that's because Hugo Weaving did such an excellent job in playing that character.
