Superman Returns Official Soundtrack Preview now Online!!!

it was ok nothing special...

john ottman was faithful to john williams score and added his own thing...but this score doesnt catch my attention...

Yeah the score is a rehash of Williams themes, and the orchestration is dull, sounds like all the parts in the orchestra are playing the same notes. He composed this stuff on a keyboard, the score lacks range!

What? You guys are nuts?

I'm sorry its not as bombastic and earbursting as X3's score.

Sorry subtlty's becoming a bad thing.

looking at your avatar bos, and hearing this music is... unbelievable... moving... i just creamed..

none of us will be the same after experiencing this film...

oh btw, i'm listening to #6. it's beautiful.

I like what I hear, but passing judgment so far is a little early. 30 seconds of score per track isn't anywhere near enough to get a sense of how this score is going to play. It's a nice little taste, but it's the same thing with trailers: A trailer can be good and the meat can be spoiled. It's still up in the air, too soon to be making calls just yet. If it sounds pedestrian or whatever, that's probably because all the clips chosen seem to be picked BASED on the fact there's recognizable Williams pieces in there. There's a lot more to hear in there, just reading the descriptions per track. Could end up impressive. Could end up they picked the 30 seconds because they really were the best 30 seconds.

It's still a little early to be making a call just yet.

The "Memories" track is so amazing!!! It will probably be played when young Clark is jumping over the corn fields!!

I think he means as Superman fans, we won't be the same as we were before after we see this film.

Meh. It sounds over the the top to me.

*Returns to his newly purchased A.I. score*

Sounds energetic. Memories and Saving the World are the best clips, IMHYAO.

the Superman March is nowhere to be found

That kind of sucks. But I suppose it is more of a victory anthem and in this movie, nothing is going right for Superman until the end and so I suppose it will be apt for the credits at least.

But thanks god March of the Villains is gone. That was the french-clown type silly music that accompanies Luthor and Otis. Imagine the music that would accompany a Penguin waddling.

It's nowhere to be found ON THE SOUNDTRACK. The score has it a couple of times, the article even mentions that. Remember, there's only about 55 minutes of this thing on CD, chopped up and re-arranged. The fanfare shows up plenty throughout the movie.

I had a lump in my throat when the Kent Farm theme came up in 'Memories'. Thank got Singer and Ottman kept Williams' work. It just elevates the film to a different level, although full credit to Ottman for the update.

Yeah. Although on a site where the word "Hype" is included in the title, you should probably prepare yourself for a level of fanboy that is quite literally out of his mind saying some of the things he says.

Such as "This movie is life-changing."

Perspective is often in short supply. Sorta gotta expect that even HEADING into this spot.

Tis truly the most beautiful score I have heard in quite awhile.

yeah, but you haven't actually heard the score.

(hype is in the title of the website. hype is in the title of the website. hype is in the title of the website. breathe. just remember. hype is in the title of the website. hype is in..)

I want to hear the whole thing.. but just from the small title music..you can tell he nailed the theme.

and the last peice of music Reprise..is building to the over earth smile shot..

Cant ****ing wait.

Meh. Most of it is average but some of them are very nice. I like "How could you leave us?" and "You're not one of them". Ottman has always been average to me. It is nice to hear that it has some cool reminiscent parts.

The soundtrack sounds beautiful and epic. It is interesting how Ottoman has used cues from the Kent Farm/Smallville theme, the Love theme and ofcourse the fanfare and the title march. The amazing part is how the original themes have been made more contemporary by adding choir and heavier orchestra, the love theme in the last track and the Smallville theme in one of the earlier tracks is a good example. All in all something really worth looking forward to. And Yes, the title march sounds superb, the quality is stunning.

Massive OWNAGE about to occur on the 27th

Haters beware this score is top shelf

So the people who don't think this score is A+ are haters??

I quite like what little there is to hear...but as Roberts points out, it's way to early to make a call.

I'm REALLY liking how Ottman weaved in the Smallville theme into track 2. That was pretty damn nice.

This thing is sounding really clean.

 I dont hear it.
