Superman Returns Official Soundtrack Preview now Online!!!

Probably gonna be pushed back, I'd think, because as it stands, I think the soundtrack is released a day AFTER the movie, now. if not day of. They wanna use it as some sort of promo, so I'd hope they bump it back to the 3rd week of June, if not the 2nd.

I don't know if they have enough pressed up and packaged right now.

The score is supposed to be out on the 27th according to Amazon. I think they can make it by then. I imagine they'd want to anyway for both promo and anti-piracy purposes.

While the Superman Fanfare is present throughout the score, the Superman March is nowhere to be found (except for the "Main Titles"). The Krypton Theme and the Kent Family Theme both make short cameos on the album and don't go looking for the March of the Villains (AKA Otis' Theme) or the Kryptonite/Legacy Motif. Superman Returns is not a mindless rehash of John Williams' original material; it is an inventive and strong continuation of the vein that was tapped into for the first time in 1978.
Very happy to read this. Sounds like it's exactly what I was hoping it would be. I can't wait to buy this, and more importantly, experience it with the film opening night.

I like it. I'll buy it. The one thing that bothers me:

"While the Superman Fanfare is present throughout the score, the Superman March is nowhere to be found (except for the "Main Titles")."

Kinda makes me a bit sad...

DAMN IT!!!! It sounds like another Superman movie, curse you Singer!!!

F**K!!!! they won't f**king work!!!! I really want to hear them!

Wait they are working, just downloading so very f**king slowly. Must be alot of people downloading, man this sound llike an awesome score.

did you boyz see the zip file that has them all in it??? Dark Lord posted it saves time and agony :)

I can't believe it but....he did it. He really did it. Honestly I never thought he would come close to Williams score so I never expected anything huge. But he did it. He made me believe. He did exactly what he should have done. All the notes are there but he doesnt try and just copy Williams. I believe I really believe.

I loved the reprise/ fly away theme, man I can't wait to hear that and see it in the film, June 28th!!!!!!!

its soo....much better then i expected

You know I can't get over how much the main theme sounds like Williams. Yes I know he was working from the original composition but I have never heard anyone treat it as well or an orchestra that played it so well since the London Symphony. I really have to stretch to find any differences yet it feels updated or at least fresh to me.

I haven't listened to these, yet, but I have read the descriptions. thank god for the chorus, b/c that's what I've been beating the drum for. carmina burana, lux aeterna, matrix reloded smith/neo battle, that's what I wait for in a soundtrack. I hope this is what I'm getting.

I despise the love themen (always have), but I can live with it if the rest holds up.

Keep in mind...not much of the choir parts are in the previews.

Ah! I hear bits and pieces. Ooh, even a bit of Justice League . . . sounds good, need to hear the whole soundtrack.

Tracks 1, 7, 8, 13, 14, 15:

It's always a gamble going with 30 second clips. Many times I've bought a cd based on samples, only to be let down big time. But from these I think it will be one of Ottmans better works, if not the best.

The Reprise (15) uses the love theme, and I have to admit, it sounds okay to me. That bodes well for me liking the soundrack.

I HATE how the reprise cuts off when its building, building, building . . . end of clip!!

The "In The Hands of Mortals" piece will have me crying.
