My point all along. It's more suscefull overseas then here. If you suscribe to the this is the 3rd movie, so expect a drop in viewership therory, that is not the case overseas. Superhero movies are more popular than ever overseas. If the breakdown was 50-50 like the 1st 2 movies, it would have $ 636 WW. Look at Pirates. 65.1 % overseas. Overseas money is carrying the summer box office so far. 933 million so far just these 2 movies from overseas.

Awesome isn't the word, AMAZING is. I am astounded by how massive this film is overseas. Spidey's the man!

SM3 is operating just like "Lord of the Rings" and "Harry Potter" movies. They make ass-loads more overseas than they do domestically. This is the first time people are really seeing what Spider-Man can do overseas. Comic Book Films are NOT popular overseas, I don't know where the hell you got that from. SPIDER-MAN is popular overseas. Take a look at what Fantastic Four, Superman Returns and Batman Begins made overseas, those numbers suck ass compared to any Spidey film overseas.

However, I think FF2 is going to be a lot bigger than FF1 domestically, overseas/worldwide. Maybe between 430-460M WW.

Over a 300 Million domestic box office is not a disappointment. Fact.

Over 300M is awesome for a film (especially in a time when many films don't even surpass 230M), anyone that makes a film that brings in over 300M should be a very, very, happy person, as well as the distributor. Definitley not a dissapointment what so ever.

Yea I know, but if every Marvel, and FF fan went 9 times like I do, there would be no problems. FF 2 will still kick major hinney. Suprise of the summer. You heard it here 1st. t: Transformers # 1 domestic for the summer, and year. Don't make me laugh. I can't see any grown man, sitting thru Transformers. Bryan Singer might like it thou. Sit there with little Transformers toys, and have a ball with himself. And before anyone jumps me let me say I have NO problem with Singers lifestyle. I have a problem with the way he portaied Superman, and the costume he put him in. Superman is no character to make a statement.

Again that points back to the piracy problem and how soon DVD's come out, not to mention the cost of the tickets, concessions, babysitter, gas, etc...I saw Spidey 3 twice in theatres and will probably take my kids to go for the 1st time later this week. But that's it. I'll get the DVD in the Winter for $13.99 at Walmart for sure and buy more from XMAS gifts.

what's great about all these films is that they're all super huge hits... I can't wait to see some of that money come back to me hopefully! We paid to see these films go up and up and up, we should get a bit of a cut of the profits n'est pas barkhudah?

I think the point needs to be stressed, spidey 3 is the biggest grossing comic film fine... will any other film ever reach that figure? Superman had the potential but something strangely amiss happened with it

I´m gonna see it a ton more times on DVD than at theaters... With ticket prices, overpriced snacks, annoying kids and teenagers in the audience, it´s less and less worth it to go to theaters, especially if you have a big screen TV.

I saw it 5 times. The most seen film by me in theaters (it was 4 for SM2 and SM1). Ticket prices really don't bug me. Nothing beats the theater experience, and I'd pay to see them no matter the cost.

If tickets were 100 bucks, I still would have seen SM3 five times!

And why is this important?? ..POTC3's opening weekend was way less than Spidey 3's weekend so where you expecting the same second weekend figures?? The only similarity is that they both dropped dismally in their second weekend..Both 62% drop offs..Same can be said for shrek...even though Shrek didn't have a second weekend as bad as POTC3 and Spidey3..

Just read a couple of the posts here..What the hell am i seeing?? Someone actually thinks Spidey 3 will make 350M for the year?? Okay..lets be real with ourselves..Spidey 3 is NOT making up to 345M so 350M is just a laugh on its own..Both Spidey 3 and POTC3 are huge successes for this year..No denying that!..Maybe not as huge as they should have been given the hype and all but they have certainly delivered..The position for the number 1 domestic movie for this year is still open..Spidey 3 is #1 for NOW..Get that y'all..for NOW!!!..Transformers and all other megablockbusters are still on the assault...Spidey 3 will make probably 340M..that may be high but its not exactly momumental..

Ohk You see for real then??? What other movie coming out this summer is as hyped as SM3 was? What other movie coming out this summer has a media budget over 100 million other than SM3? What other movie will break SM3's records it established this summer, in your opinion....honestly? I can guarantee you that Transformers will not bust any of Spidey's records.

When people see Bay's s**tfest, it won't top Spidey. Bay is is one of Hollywood's worst director's. I have seen B-movies, straight to DVD of higher quality than Bay's movies (as far as story goes). And this is coming from someone who loves the Transformers.

Spider-Man is NOT losing #1 domestic.

What do you think will beat it? Transformers? Potter? Potter makes a consistant amount here, and won't do it. Heck, it will barely make 300 million.

When people see Bay's s**tfest, it won't top Spidey. Bay is is one of Hollywood's worst director's. I have seen B-movies, straight to DVD of higher quality than Bay's movies (as far as story goes). And this is coming from someone who loves the Transformers.

Transformers is only an internet based excitement wagon. When people saw the Spidey 3 trailer in theatres, I heard gasps, awesomes, and I am going to see that! I heard a cough at the Transformers trailer the other day. Old people won't see Transformers and kids pick Spidey over Autobots anyday. Spidey toys are still being sold by the tons...it will remain #1 probably for another year or maybe a couple of years.

Possibly Harry Potter 5 could do it or come close to doing it. It will definitely make a buttload of money worldwide.

The hype of those movies certainly is building...along with book 7's release as well. I don't think this movie will break SM3's records but movie 7 will be a huge hit IMO...if the quality continues to rise. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will be a mega hit in the box offices internationally and domestically.

As for Potter, I am sure OOTP will be great, but the Potter's make around the same amount. I agree the Deathly Hallows could do much better (like ROTK, it is the finale).
