Jake G. would have been a good choice a few years ago but I think now he is too big of a name. I'd rather have an actor on the rise or an unknown not someone who is already mainstream established.

Milo is going to turn 30 in 2 months so I think he is a little too old to start playing Peter Parker. If there is going to be a new PP I want him to be in atleast 2 movies so Milo's age plays a factor.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt is a good actor, but doesn't remind me of PP at all. Plus, I read a few interview with him and he just seems like the kind of guy who wants to stay away from blockbuster films.

But isn't Maguire about 31 right now? I think Milo looks young for his age, plus with SM4, Pete would be older, still in college...I bet he could pull off the role.

If the cast and crew did not return this would set in motion the new trilogy:

Director: Sam Raimi (he has to comeback or there is no vision)
PP/SM: Jake Gyllenhaal
MJ: Jessica Biel
Felicia Hardy: Scarlett Johanssen
Curt Connor/Lizard: same guy
Plus everyone that has been in place previously (ie Betty, JJ, etc)

Villian:
Morlun leader of Sinister 6: Michael Wincott (The Crow)
Blackcat: Of course Scarlett Jo
Scorpion:
Shocker:
Chameleon:
Rhino:
Vulture:

You fill in the blanks:trans:

As i said 2 times before...NO GYLLENHAAL!!! HE DONT LOOK LIKE PETER PARKER AT ALL!!:cmad:

problem with Gyllenhaal is the same as Tobey. he's too dull and morose. even if they did write Spidey's wisecracks into the movie, he'd never pull it off.

his wisecracks in "Day After Tomorrow" alone seemed more genuine and Peter-like than most of Tobey's wisecracks in all of the Spidey films.

McAvoy wouldn't suit this i feel, I consider him too good to waste on a spidey flick.

It's nice to see you you need to resort to petty insults to get your point across. If this were any other actor, I'd probably say the same thing. Most people rag on movie stars because they want more money with each project their work on and that's bull****. If you were asking for a raise after a job well done, you'd take it. That's exactly what is going on here. That's the movie business. Just because it's a lot more money doesn't mean it's very different in situations. Just because you want a pay raise doesn't mean you think you're king ****.
I did not rag on any movie stars because they ask constantly for more money i merely said its egotistical, theres no way you can argue with that. and when it comes to tobey maguire not being a very good spiderman i only spoke the truth. hes not great, hes not terrible. but hes definately not great.

Haha, asking for more money doesn't mean you're egotisicsal. It's a business. Paris Hilton is egotisical. Jennifer Hudson is egotisical. Tobey? Hah.

He's very good.

Peter Parker/ Spider-Man: Jake Gyllenhal (he just seems like the next logical choice)

Mary Jane: Scarlett Johanneson (WAAAAY hotter than Dunst, and a better actress)

The Lizard: Dylan Baker

Black Cat: Rose McGowan (she is perfect for that part).

Well, if you've ever heard the commentary on the original DVD of Donnie Darko, you'd see that Jake is very good at wisecracking in real life. But that said, I'd still like to see someone else as Peter Parker/Spider-man.

still, not a fan, if he's dull, or not, he's just not right for the role, imo

now, lets see, Tobey or Jake, do this

(ok, he probably has a stand in for most of that, but, still lol)

i also, still like, Jonathan Tucker

NO!! Adam Brody is a horrible choice for Spider-Man. He's only capable of playing one character - himself. He has no range whatsoever. If an O.C. actor is ever cast in a Spider-Man movie, I will lose all faith in Marvel & Sony.

A few months ago, as the Spider-Man 3 promotional campaign was circling the globe, star Tobey Maguire stated that he had no interest in a fourth film. Then, just a few weeks later, as Sony announced its intention for at least three more franchise installments, the actor started backtracking.
- Originally in the POTC: AT WORLD'S END thread

Hopefully Kirsten, and all the remaining cast members will come back now

^^ Yeah, Kirsten's been saying she would only do 3 since film one. Tobey mentioned 3 feels like a natural closing point. And Sony's intention has been 6 films all along.

Just a few weeks before the movie came out, both Kirsten and Tobey said they would come back if the team could stick together and there was a good story to tell. And a short while later, Sam Raimi said the same thing.

In my opinion, it depends on how soon the producers want Spider-Man 4 to come out. There's been rumors going around that Sam has been offered a couple different projects, and even the Tobey and Kirsten have mentioned that Sam needs a break. So, if the producers are willing to wait for Sam, then I don't see a problem getting everyone back.

If Sam and his brothers write the story for S-M: 4, and stick to CLASSIC characters cause S-M is still too early in the franchise (6 movies will turn into 9, and then just snowball after that) for the Silver Age villians (probably why Venom didn't work, combining a Golden Age "Sandman" and a Silver Age "Venom" villlian together)

None of the Spider-Man characters are "Golden Age."

The Golden Age was back when Cap was fighting Nazis and the Human Torch was an android. Spider-Man is in the Silver Age, and the Death of Gwen Stacy is generally considered the start of the Bronze Age.

If anything, Jake Gyllenhaal should be Spider-Man if Tobey doesn't return.

Even before tobey maguire was cast as Peter Parker I always thought Zach Braff was(still is) the best candidate for peter parker. He looks like him and he also act like him (and for those who ask no I m not a fan of srubs tv series):spidey:
