I dunno about you guys...but im a little excited about returning to Middle-Earth.

I had to say it but I like these kind of fantasy worlds... Star Wars... Narnia, Middle-earth, Fantasia (Neverending Story)... can Indiana Jones count too? :p Those are the only fantasies I can stand.

I still think Orcs are disgusting ceatures. ew.

Liv Tyler Talks The Hobbit

by Scott Collura

May 20, 2008 - IGN caught up with actress Liv Tyler yesterday in New York City to discuss her new horror film The Strangers, but while we had her pointy Elven ear we just had to ask her about whether or not she'll be returning to the Lord of the Rings universe as Arwen for the upcoming pair of recently announced Hobbit films.

"Somebody just said to me, 'Has your agent called Peter Jackson yet?'" says the actress with a laugh. "And I was like, 'Whoa. What are you talking about?' [The reporter] was so aggressive. It's so funny the way people think and see [these things]. Someone just told me now that [director] Guillermo del Toro was doing it and that they're going to split it into two films, which will be The Hobbit plus some sort of a bridge to The Lord of the Rings. As far as I know, Arwen and Aragorn are not in The Hobbit, or definitely aren't in it. But I don't know yet."

Liv Tyler as Arwen

While Tyler points out that Arwen does not show up in the book version of The Hobbit, the so-called bridge film could be another matter altogether.

"It's very interesting and I guess I should try to find out," she says. "I'm curious because there were all those other books like The Silmarillion. And the appendix, that's where they got the whole idea for my part, just from the appendix. There's so much other amazing stuff."

She says she is definitely onboard for a return appearance if del Toro and producer Peter Jackson invite her.

"Oh, are you kidding?" she says when asked. "In a heartbeat! I'll buy my own ticket and be on the plane in a second. I mean, that was a magical experience and it was just a once in a lifetime, amazing [thing]. Because it was so like… we knew and we didn't know that it was sort of something that had never been done before, and there was this feeling that was really gung-ho. Like, 'O.K., let's go off together!' And we just rolled our sleeves up. It really was this amazing, crazy, special thing."

So only time will tell if Arwen will return or not, but stay tuned to IGN Movies for all your Hobbit news as it breaks!

...

Interesting. Far more interesting is Liv, someone who has read the books, knows Arwen and Aragorn aren't in the hobbit so as far as the second film is concerned, who knows what it'll involve. Looking forward to learning more.

Yeah I think I'm in love with Liv... had a thing for her ever since Armagedon... LOTR was the tipping point.

Ditto, had a thing for her ever since Empire Records.

Oh yayness... I had a thing for her since... geez... either Armageddon or One Night at McCools cause I started having odd dreams of her... which I won't get into. hehe. :)

Ah Liv.

I was in that chat today.

I was surprised it only took an hour. A few of us in the chat group thought it'd take three.

DAYUM MAN you LUCKY dog!!! I couldn't get on the damn site, STUPID dailup!

Yeah. I few people had a rough time even entering. Some people only received half of a few responses.

I'm in a way glad it wasn't just me then.

Liv Tyler was so surpsrisingly good in LOTR. This bridge film between Hobbit & LOTR sounds very interesting.

The interview that they posted of COmingsoon.net gives me hope

Awesome read on the chat. I liked the part about "Every actor from the trilogy will be asked back at some point".

Well it makes sense to use the actors they used in LotR just for some kind of continuity.

yeah, I saw that on IEsB. That would suck big time if he succeeds.

I would not worry to much and its kinda old news and i don't think these film makers would proceed with plans if they actually thaught Chris would win for they are not ego driven people like Lucas can be. I say it will go away for if he shuts down a movie that fans of his father books wants to see well he could be seen as a villain and the books would suffer.

How much is the Tolkien family owed, according to Chris? in an article says £80m... That would be £80000 (thousand) or £80000000 (million)?

I would imagine that deal is with Newline and i wonder since Newline has kinda folded up and is no more perhaps legally he may not be able to be marited the suit. I think any judge is he ruled would grant the money be paid but not stop the movie for there have been so many movies trying to be block being made and it never works. Be it Passion Of The Christ, or The Da Vinci code. I know they were for religious reasons. I say Tolkien could get the money but not stop the movie is what i am saying.
