Is this going to be a trilogy like LOTR? The animated version was only one film but I heard there will be at least two.
Actually, for the animated movies, ROTK was techally a sequel to The Hobbit not LOTR.Is this going to be a trilogy like LOTR? The animated version was only one film but I heard there will be at least two.
Sam Raimi on Evil Dead 4 = WIN!
Would he be willing to go back to the cult horror films?
After PJ got successful, he sure as hell didn't. He did Kong, and Halo coming up.
I know, and that's what depresses me. The Evil Dead films are cult classics and everything but, realistically would he go from directing a billion dollar franchise to a low budget cheese fest that probably wouldn't even make back it's budget in theaters (even though it would be awesome). I mean it's easy to call him a "sell out" but you really can't blame him.
The sad thing is though, he won't let anyone else touch the Evil Dead franchise, either.
The good news is... the semi-sequel "My Name Is Bruce" (Evil Dead 3.5 FTW!) is coming out, and it's being Directed by Bruce himself (as well as being the star, obviously), Sam Raimi is producing it, and brother Teddy has a role in it as well. so I'm thinking if it actually turns out half decent, maybe Raimi would agree to at least take up the Executive Producer role and let Bruce direct Evil Dead 4.
There's a saying in my film school: There are two reasons to make films. You either make a film for artistic purposes or you make a film to make money. My professors say if you don't make a film for either of those reasons, then you are what they call in the industry a "jerk." There's no such thing as selling out when it comes to filmmaking.
