I honestly feel Jackson should direct the film. Perhaps it's just me, but I can't see anyone really doing Middle Earth as great as he did it, you know? It just seems completely foreign to me because he did it just like I imagined and anyone else who attempts it won't do it well enough for me.
In my opinion, I feel anyone who says LOTR is boring has attention span issues and don't care for films that tell a great story. If these films didn't do what they were supposed to do New Line wouldn't have approved of three sequels.
@Mr. Credible- Miramax originally wanted LOTR to be limited to one film and have it be told in a one hour forty minutes time frame. Doing this would've neglected key elements of certain characters, epic events, and other concepts that made the novels great and the current films amazing.
If Miramax did what you propse you wouldn't have Helms Deep, Paths of the Dead, Minas Tirith, and so forth. I am very glad they did it with three films and created a magical story that is both critically acclaimed and will be remember as some of the greatest films in cinema history.
