Martin Freeman just has that Hobbit look to him the way Ian Holm and Elijah Wood do. James McAvoy does somewhat too, but I think Freeman is the most "Bilbo-esque".

I agree. Martin Freeman just looks like a young Bilbo

I think the idea is to have young Bilbo kinda resemble Frodo but a bit more braver. I know Frodo is dealing with the rings effects but he seemed kinda chicken like comapred to Sam and the others. Thats just my opinion. My point was the casting workd for me cause he looks a bit like Elijah but he has an edge to him is all.

Where'd you find this?

I have a question for whoever knows.

When they say there making two films...is it the full novel The Hobbit split in to two movies, or will The Hobbit be the first one and the second film be one of Tolkien's other works that he wrote in between The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings?

From what I remember hearing, they're splitting The Hobbit into two films, but someone I know(who is most likely wrong) says the second film will be based on one of the stories Tolkien wrote before he did LotR.

I think its the Hobbit in one movie, then another movie bridging the story to FOTR

The Hobbit is the first film. And the second film is more of an original story that will bridge the LOTR Trilogy and the Hobbit together.

Deltoro called it differant Volumes or rathe Chapters of Middle Earth. The Hobbit in the series of films would be Volume 1 The Prequel film some are calling the second movie a bridge film is Volume 2 and ofcourse The LOrd Of The Rings is volume 3. Each with be middle earth but slightly differant as it shoudl be.

You know who I would love to see play Bilbo? Alan Tudyk (I swear I'm not one of those Serenity nuts)

He can do action, comedy and drama (Serenity, Death at a funeral and 3:10 to Yuma) and he sort of looks like he could grow up to be Ian Holm.

He's a better choice than Daniel Radcliffe and James McAvoy anyway.

Radcliffe looks nothing like Ian Holm... Freeman, oh he most certainly does :D

Am I the only one who couldn't care less about how much or how little the eventual young Bilbo looks like Ian Holm, and only cares that they get the best possible person for the role?

any of these actors could do the dwarfs

Bob Hoskins
Brian Blessed
John Rhys-Davies
Danny De Vito ;)

Actually after seeing Hellboy I could imagine John Hurt as a Dwarf too.

James Cosmo
Brian Cox
Brenden Gleeson
Ron Perlman
(i can't see Hoskins as a Dwarf though, maybe a Hobbit)

Christ there going **** up the hobbit just like they ****ed up Lotr... Bilbo is a middle aged over-weight hobbit in the Hobbit that's what gives the story heart as well as what drives it, making him a young hand some twenty something year old ruins it :cmad:
