Didn't the Crossroads somehow weaken the Hulk, though? Either because of its nature or because pretty much everything he encountered there was as strong or stronger than he was, so he was physically beaten a lot? There's always some mitigating factor whenever Thor seems to hold his own against the Hulk.

I know very little about the crossroads storyline. I didn't follow it. I saw the story where Hulk gets stepped on by the dino and I have seen scans of Thor retrieving Hulk. That is all I can recall ever seeing. That version of the Hulk IIRC was the strongest until WWH and stronger than Hulk usually is so the win should still count even if Hulk was weakened a bit.

His "mind" was slowly returning to him at the time. It manifested into three companions he had at the time. Now he was incomplete, but if that equates to weaker. I dunno.

And yes. Check out the Crossroads stuff.

Sounds good to me Paradox. Why a ball tho? I mean you CAN use a hammer, it's part of Myth. Marvel has no Claim over Thor just the version they have in print. Heck in the comic I'm making I have my own version of Thor and Mjolnir. They only make brief appearances tho.

The ball and rope(i just found out is called meteor hammer) is technique used in martial arts I was thinking of adapting the technique to mjoinir and Thor. I just didn't want him to be a brute swinging and throwing the hammer. I wanted it to be graceful, I'll adopt some of the moves and combine some knife technique or sword .

Yeah I understand about the Gracefulness. It does make some sense tho, because some of the vikings were in Asian territories.

Yeah I'm gonna combine three weapon techniques for Thor's weilding of the Mjoinir. I've been doing some research I think these will work best, one being the metor hammer, nunchaku, and knife. I hope it looks cool

Absolutely. It was one of the best issues I read all year, although I obviously have a fair bit of bias.

Fair enough. Thor God-Size Special was in the shop when I was in on Friday, I'll pick it up if it's still there when I go back this week.

In the meantime, I just ordered the Loki mini-series off Amazon, on the recommendation of moraldeficiency.

That's one I'm still looking for too. I keep forgetting to see if Barnes and Noble has it, because my LCS doesn't.

I have the whole mini. It was easily some of the best stuff I ever read. I wish the movie would've followed some of it. It was that good.

Do we have any idea what the story of Thor #600 is, or is it all being kept tightly under-wraps?

No clue. We know it probably involves Bor somehow, given his appearance on the cover and what we saw of him in #12 (a.k.a. the "Loki is cooler than you and everyone you know" issue).

I actually reread #12 today. Just simply great stuff. Though Loki killing his father was my standout moment first time round, this time my favourite moment was when young Loki asks adult Loki the simple question of... "Why?" And Loki just goes on this nihilistic tirade, dripping with overwhelming ambition and bitterness, that reminded me of Daniel Plainview's campfire monologue in There Will Be Blood.

I'm gonna transcribe it on here later, probably, probably to post in that Great Comic Book Quotes thread that was kicking around somewhere.

YOUNG LOKI: So why do you do this?

LOKI: To become the ultimate power in all creation. To live forever. To see those I hate ground down before me. I wish to stand at the highest point. I wish... I wish to rule all things... and the means to that power can never be found in the dirt beneath the huts of our people.

That was a great line but mines is after he kills his father and goes on to say if only mortals could do the same thing they would save money in psychiatric treatment

Makes me wonder if Loki undoes "his/her" spell on Bor or if Thor released Bor with all the other in the Godstorm over earth.

Because originally I thought it was that "vampire" Odin had Talked too about his visions about Balder.

Well, Bor was killed way, way before Ragnarok, so I don't think the godstorm (good name) would've brought him back. I could see Loki himself bringing Bor back and manipulating him, though. We know gods' spirits are really, really ridiculously hard to kill, so even though Bor's body has been dead for probably millennia, his spirit is likely still wandering about somewhere. Loki could retrieve it, give him a new body, and tell him that although his treacherous son Odin is dead, his grandson knows how to get to him or that he could reclaim his former glory and have the long reign he desired if he just deposes Odin's equally treacherous son or something. All true, which fits with Loki's current MO, too.

All true except the "equally treacherous son" part. But yeah that'd make for a pretty cool story idea.

Well, Thor didn't do much to help Bor out, either. Bor might see him as just an extension of his bastard father.

Bor's death was before he was born though wasn't it? It seems to me that Thor's fairly blameless in that situation. I mean if the guy's been dead for longer than you've been alive I think you'd be pretty justified in not putting much effort into bringing him back.

Rest in Peace and all that.
