Yeah, much better than her playing Sif, which was the rumor. I'm curious how she'll fit in without Blake, though. Maybe she brings Thor in touch with humanity rather than being stuffed into a human shell himself.

well.. to be fair it seems like every month or so we here news that blake is in it... then a month later that he's not...

personally i'd rather blake be included then not, just keep the actor the same somehow.... just make them look just enough different? (sort of like how thor would look as a human). That actually could be the very reason that they don't want blake... they feel like they can't get around casting 2 leads.

If Blake is in, they'd absolutely have to have two actors, as far as I'm concerned. Passing a 6'3" mound of muscle off as a crippled, weak surgeon just wouldn't work for me, and being both crippled and weak are integral to the Blake character, at least initially.

They should be different actors anyway, it's a secret identity. People aren't suposed to recognise Thor when he's Blake. I hate that whole Clark kent/Superman Let me take off my glasses so no one will recognise me thing it's so ******ed.

I don't mind Clark Kent/Superman. It's illogical, but it's so ingrained in the character's history that changing it or explaining just feels even more silly and artificial. But it's fine for Clark because putting on or taking off his glasses is literally all he does to shift identities. Thor actually becomes another life form. No way should he look the same in human form as he does in his divine form. A human being who looks like Thor and has Don Blake's personality wouldn't teach Thor anything because he wouldn't experience any adversity. Men would want to be him and women would want to be with him. Life would be fantastic for him.

well... didn't realize Chris was 6'3... but height can always be tweaked on screen... as could body weight. who knows Thor may have prosthetic muscles anyway... I could see them do it... give thor bigger muscles and a beard... and have blake lose the beard and be thinner.

however... i could also see thor casted out of asgard, lands on earth, naked, beaten and alone... powerless and mortal... and Jane Foster takes him in... gives him the persona Donald Blake... only problem would be he wouldn't be a doctor.

Prosthetic muscles would be awful. I'd prefer a slender Thor over a fake-looking, overly muscular one.

Yeah if Jane Foster is in it there has to be Blake those two are hand in hand.Which means this movie is going in a way I'm not comfortable with. The movie seems to be centered around Thor's life on Earth. Its either they are going to completely dismiss the character of Blake and say he's Thor 24/7 which defeats the point of learning a humility and its a story thats been told a million ways and none of them seem to work.

Having Jane Foster makes no sense with out Blake. Why would Thor know some random nurse?

well... after being cast out of Asgard.. she'd most likely just be the first human he befriended.

But why her? Why would a god who would never need medical attention or at least not any medical attention that a mortal could give him meet a nurse before anyone else? I mean sure it could happen but they would have to recreate the whole history of both characters. Seems like a big waste of time for something they should know won't fly.

If they're gonna go with him being in the crazy house, she may be the doctor treating him.

maybe he loses his immortality ... and has to earn it back?

I like Natalie Portman. I would do things to her. Sexual things.

She's a decent actress but I find her a bit uppity. "Oh, sure, I've won awards and I'm getting tons of huge roles, but I wouldn't call this silly acting thing a career. I want to do something worthwhile with my life when I graduate from my ivy league college." She's one of those people who's too good at too much s*** and is annoyingly aware of it.

They wouldn't have to recreate anything. The story's not gonna play out exactly the same way it did in the comics. We should all know that by now. Expect some changes, possibly like Thor meeting and falling for a random nurse who shows him the better aspects of humanity.

And how would that not recreate the whole history between these two characters? Of course things won't be exactly as in the comics, it's taken the comics 30 years to tell that story but the key points should remain intact and marvel should have learned that lesson by know.

To each his own. It's really not a deal-breaker for me if Thor falls in love with Jane as Thor and Blake is left out of the movie interpretation. Thor did love Jane as both himself and Blake in the comics, and the primary conflict it created with Odin was because Thor was a god and Jane was human, so Blake's really the extraneous part of the relationship. He only existed back in the '60s to give Thor a secret identity so he could conform to the typical superhero standards of the period.

She's way to skinny to be hot. Anyone see that Darjeeling express movie? It would be like ****ing skeletor.

A common problem among the actress set. One of the many reasons I like Kate Winslet, too. She got over that s***, enjoys being healthy now, and her work hasn't suffered in the least.
